Alright, I'm not sure what is up with my computer, but it's really starting to piss me off. For some reason recently, my optical drives stopped working. Well, not exactly stopped working, but the computer simply stopped seeing them. The weird thing is that if I was to put in a CD/DVD into one of them, they will start reading it as normal, but then if I was to go into my computer, the optical drive would not show up. And the thing is that, I'm no computer newb, and I know my fair share as far as computer software goes, but I'm not exactly good with computer hardware. Anyone have any suggestions to help me out? Major thanks in advance to all those that decide to help!

You try reinstalling your drivers for them? I know it's a simple thing and you've probably done it, but I just want to get that out of the way. 'cause that sounds exactly like a corruption/absense of drivers, at least to my ears.

However, I just find it plain strange that the drivers for BOTH of my CD burners to have gotten corrupted/deleted/etc. at the same time.
Alright, there's a problem. I know where I can get the drivers for one of my CD/DVD burners, but here's the problem. The only two choices that it gives me is to install the driver using a floppy or by burning a CD. The problem is that I have no floppy drive and both of my optical drives aren't seen by my computer at all.
Err... Any other suggestions, anyone? Btw, I already checked to make sure all the wires are connected.

That's odd... Normally the manufacturer has them available for the using online... But I had similar issues finding my modem driver, so I know how it is.

The manufacturer has them available online, but the only way to install them is through either by saving them to a floppy and installing from there or by burning them onto a CD, and installing them from there

Ya got any USB drives? I've seen CD-ROM and Floppy drives that plug into your USB drive. If you can borrow one off of a teacher/buddy, it'll fix ya.

Good point, thanks. Didn't think of that for some reason, lol. I'll see if I can get my hands on one.
Btw, did you ever have a problem in firefox (if you use FF), where it wouldn't play youtube vids for you? Because what I'm getting is, it loads the video like normal, but it stops every 2 or 3 seconds, and the only way to get it to play for another 2-3 seconds is by clicking on the time bar thing. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix that? I just started getting that yesterday. At first, I assumed that it was my ad blocker, but now I know it's not, because I disabled it, but the vids are still not working.

Can't help you there. Jes' wait 'til choobs gets on. He's an ace with FF, so he should be able to lend a hand.

That sounds like lag.
Are you using Firefox 3? Because FF3 is magic.
Also try updating your flash?
I dunno.

I did have the most recent version of Flash and I am using FF3.
Although the strange thing is that it started working about 5 minutes ago. I'm really having a WTF?! moment right now. I swear it wasn't working before, but hopefully, it'll stay working.
Thanks anyway! ^_^
