Hey there. I saw one of those suckers at the Salvation army, and was wondering... How many of you have read these things? My first book I read on my own was a one where you had to find Archaeopteryx by time travelling, and was very clever with a tendency to break the fourth wall and do all sorts of weird tricks. (It wasn't a normal book of the series, since it only had one real ending, but it was fun as heck. I still remember the answer path to beat it.)
Anyways, the regular ones were so bad they were good. My present one is "Master of Tae Kwon Do" which is half Kung-fu sploitation, and half brutal realism. (Yes, you know kung fu, but EVERY OTHER PERSON IS PACKING GUNS!) That tended to happen with them. About three good endings, and twenty bad ones... And very little logical choice to them. Still, they were VERY fun.
Finally, two questions, in addition to discussing these: Would you guys be up for a contest where different teams of three go through the book, voting on which path to take, and whoever survives the longest wins? It could be a house contest or a reg'lar EP contest.
And would you RPers be up for making an ORP setting one? That could be total win. Put it up on the site, and then "If you side with the Summoners, click here. If you side with Cherrygrove, click here. If you tell Miko and Sly to sod off, you have a date with their mothers, click here." (Guess which one ends the story quickly!)

I fuggin' LOVE Choose Your Own Adventure! What a pillar of my childhood.
And I've been thinking about writing and stepping the forum through a CYOA story! I couldn't decide whether to make it "real-life" (that is, with us as the heroes) or ORP-based, though.
Lee, we've got some kind of psychic connection, haven't we?

I think that we both just happened to go with "Do something awesome involving choose your own adventures and the Exodus, turn to page 27." As opposed to Bulbs, who got stuck on the loop of "Go Pee, turn to page 25" and then "Leave the bathroom and think about RPing, Turn to page 49."

Bulbs fails at life.
TOTALLY a fairy. An EMO fairy.

The Six Mews thing is black mail on par with mentioning "Dark Truth's Resolution" or "Posting the conclusion to Chords" in front of me.

I move we bring the Archie Exie CYOA idea back to the table because it's such an awesome idea. I'd be down with writing it if i got guidelines from those better grounded in ORP about which characters to include and what the overall plot should be.
