So, here's the brainstorming place for those of you that want to help me revive our favorite little quirky useless feature... EP! I want to know what kind of functions that you want to see from it, this time around.
Possible functions brainstormed thusfar, and Lee's approval rating, *-***** (* meaning unlikely, *** meaning likely, ***** meaning a sure thing) -Filter Changing for a day **** (An old favorite though seldom used) -Karma Changing **** (Loverbombing, as Photu called it.) -Pope Style Eyebleeding Post Color Edit: *** (Painful, yes. Awesome, yes.) -Bonuses in various forum games: *** (Just need games. Though I think bonus votes in Mafia, if limited to buying 1 a game, would be fair and fun.) -Spending Competitions: *** (A sort of event where groups of people see who can dump the most EP into a spending pot in a set ammount of time.) -Colored Name: ***** (A badge of awesome.) -Skin Commissions: **** (Another old favorite, though now, we've got a lot of different options to choose from.)
So, what other ideas can you all toss around?
BTW, planned methods of earning EP, with calibrated pay: Posting a useful topic outside of RP: 3 EP Starting an RP: 2 EP Replying to an RP (In Character Only): 1 EP Hosting a Formal Game: 3 EP per two functional weeks hosted. Posting A Poem: 2 EP Posting A Story: 2 EP to 5 EP depending on quality and length. Posting Artwork: 1 EP-4 EP, depending on quality. Posting a Comic: 1 EP per entry. Other Activities: Will be added as time goes on.
Prizes will cost less, but be harder to earn overall. I'm hoping to make EP more valuable, and take more actual effort to obtain. Old EP won't be carried over, I'm afraid.

Oh, come on! Turning your posts bright pink and murdering skins is like bathing in troll! It's a good thing.
Exerpt from a conversation via pm: I just had a stroke of inspiration. Howabout people can check in every milestone set of posts, starting at the number they first had when EP started. Like every 100 posts, they get 2 EP, every 500, they get a bonus 5, every 1000, they get a bonus 10, every 5000, they get a bonus 20, and every 10,000 (EPIC), they get a bonus 50.
You got what, 100 posts overall in nonstop chat over like 3 days, right? I average around ten posts a day, consistantly, so it gives us a baseline of: Superposter: 1 year to get the big bonus. Lee/Photu/other common poster: 3 years of moderate activity to get the big bonus. Other Users: That could take a while... Anybody wanna do the math for every 100 post milestone, and the total payout? I wanna double check this before using it.

You're no common poster! According to your profile, nearly one out of every three posts made on Archie Exie is by you!

Yah, but 4000 of my 'posts' are just transferral from the old boards, IIRC. So, yah. Not so much.
I'm thinking of giving a 10 EP bonus per referals, as well. I think that'd pretty much sum up all of the different ways one can help the site, and give many different ways to earn it. You could be a hardcore RPer, like myself or Clicks, a gaming god like Baboon, a conversationalist, like Blood or BB, or a generalist, like Pohatu or Elliot. I think that's a good fair list we've got there.

Much better stat growth.

Yeah, but it takes three times as much experience to level. It's easier just to max out your Generalist levels, then trade in the experience to multiclass over. Though at that point, you may as well just take a few more levels in "Too Awesome for Words".

I... can't tell what accent that was in... It was like engrish... but butchered.
And I was totally serious with being able to change someone else's name. Or title. Or something.

Well, by Generalist, I meant a person who fully enjoys all functions of the Exodus. That means they RP, submit art, write stories, play games, and converse as normal. Though it seems you have more of a slant t' RP/Sprites, and Pohatu more towards writing and games. Oh, and another big ticket item: Temp-banning a person for a day. Though it'd be hella expensive because there's not many ways to be more annoying than that.

It's not like they have the power to go into other people's profiles and Dcfault them. They're just common rabble, after all. So knowing about the horrors of Dcfault can only inspire fear, not rebellion.

Buying a 1-day temp ban? I am strongly against that. Yes, this is a good group of people, unlikely to abuse it, but there's no way to be sure. Besides, with the low amount of activity we have as is, I don't think something that would further restrict someone's activity is wise.

Yeah, I'm kind of against it too... There isn't much point to it and a joke like that could be taken a tad bit too far too easily and just become a vengeance contest way too easily. Plus as Q pointed out there's little member activity.....
