Okay. First off, the roles.
As you can tell, the Mafia Members were Baboon, Cinders, RLRL and Loogs. More specifically, Loogs was the Godfather.
Pikachu was the Doctor.
Prime was the Detective.
Lee was the Nurse.
Andurin was the Vigilante.
DL was the Miller.
Bulbs, quite obviously, was the Bomb.
And the Lovers were RLRL and DL.
* * *
So! The game!
Well, I don't want to speak for you guys, but for my part I had a hell of a lot of fun. To me the game proved to be exactly what it promised: exciting and interesting, while at the same time in need of improvement, being only a first try. Here's what I've learned from the experience (some of these were suggested by you guys):
More knowledge between the Innocents. It's telling that the Innocent players never managed to execute a Mafia member, with the only casualty on the villainous side being the Lover RLRL. In future games, more information links of the Doctor-Nurse variety will help consolidate the Innocents just slightly more so that they don't spend every day picking each other off. I can't fulfill Prime's request of a Detective-Vigilante link for the reasons I offered, but I have other links planned.
Mafia: Night board taken offsite. It was simply too easy for comments on the Mafia: Night board to leak out here. My plan is to create a password-protected Xanga for future games instead. All Mafia members will be asked to create Xangas (if they haven't yet got them) and will confer to vote there.
PMs to prompt nightly submissions. Granted, the Innocents who have the ability to do stuff at night all got bumped off rather quickly, but all the same: Neither Pikachu, nor Lee, nor Andurin ever used their nightly powers. And Prime only used his once. I remember somebody saying somewhere (I'm too lazy to go check) that he wasn't sure when exactly he was supposed to use his power. A PM at the beginning of each night would help prompt the Doctor, Detective, etc. into using their powers. Speaking of which...
Two bullets to the Vigilante. Or the Vigilante can purchase extra bullets. I'll get to this purchasing business in a second.
Higher Innocent-Mafia ratio. In this game, with ten players, there was a 3:2 ratio of Innocents to Mafia members. Not high enough, methinks. I'm hoping that next time, some of our new or returning members who weren't around when this game began will want to join in, so I suspect the player count will go up. I will use that opportunity to adjust the ratio so that we don't have quite so few Innocents to burn through.
48-hour days and nights. We already implemented that pretty early on, but yeah, future games would start right off the bat with that division. Worked much better.
Lovers can win by themselves. For future games, the Lovers will become a two-player faction of sorts. Each Lover will still be affiliated with either the Innocents or the Mafia, and will still win if he/she is one of the only Innocents or Mafia members remaining. However, in addition, I'm thinking of creating a special clause whereby if the two Lovers are the only characters left, they win the game together, even if they're on opposing sides. Extra incentive to keep each other alive.
* * *
So those are the changes that should appear in future games. But anyone could make them. This penultimate section is a list of all-new ideas I'd bring to the table if permitted to run the next game. I know other people would probably like to run a game or two. I don't blame them. Being the Host rocks. But after this game, I'm so filled both with thoughts about what should be improved and with new concepts I'd like to work in that I would really, really like to run exactly one more game. This is what we might expect to see:
Money system. Yep, if I'm allowed to host Mafia II, it will introduce a currency system. Throughout the course of the game, players will be rewarded -- see next paragraph -- with "denarii". On one hand, these can be converted into EP for use outside the game. On the other, they can be used within the game to purchase such luxuries as extra votes, shields (protect self or another player from death for 96 hours), freezes (negate all actions taken by another player for 96 hours), or resurrections (which I know were talked about at some point on this board, and which could bring any dead player besides oneself back into the game). The Vigilante might be allowed to purchase bullets this way, too. I'm still thinking about that one. Anyway, players can give items to each other at a rate of one per day, but items owned by dead players are removed.
Games. My research into game theory has yielded a list of six small (usually one-on-one) but absolutely fascinating psychological games, one of which would be opened for every daytime period. I don't want to say anything about the individual games themselves, but they will be the source of denarii. The game system will add a whole new mental and emotional layer to Mafia. Think more along the lines of "The Mole" as opposed to tic-tac-toe.
New roles. In the event that we get more players this time around, I've got some new roles in the works. (Don't worry, more of these are Innocents than Mafia roles.) For instance, the Merchant will be able to purchase items at half price, and will be able to transfer up to two items to other players per day instead of one. If people work out who he/she is, he/she is probably going to make a lot of friends...
* * *
And those are the reasons why I would like to host the next game of Mafia. What do you think? SIMON SAYS YES?? And when should the next game of Mafia begin? I'm thinking at least a week of idle time to let the boards recharge, after which I would start politicking for potential players. So, maybe two weeks in total until the next game begins. How does that sound?

To me, I think that the biggest problem was that not everybody was around for every single day. It's one thing to have an occasional person miss. It's another, however, when the missing person/people are a factor in decision-making.
Another thing, I agree that the Mafia was too advantaged in this game. Next time, I would recommend maybe 4:7 instead of 4:6. I don't, however, think we were advantaged to the point of your description. Our success wasn't randomly determined. In other words, if this exact same game was repeated in alternate universes, I don't think the others would have turned out with this big of an advantage. My best guess is this particular game was a fluke in which the important people were whacked in a very good order: the healers first, then the information finder, the assassin, then the fairly harmless Miller, and the Bomb last. Really though, if we had killed people in a different order, we very well may have lost. Therefore, I don't recommend hindering the Mafia too much more in any subsequent games.
Otherwise, it was very fun and I hope we see another.

Oop. Didn't mean to edit your post there. I was trying to modify mine to make it an announcement.
I hope you don't mind that I did so, Lee-and-other-admins, but this topic needs publicity; I'd really like for the players to share their thoughts about what can be improved. (And this might be a good place for members interested in joining future games to speak up... Kevin? Kara? Spiffy? The Pope? Et cetera?)

I enjoyed toying with people (in some cases literally. Love the deaths XD), so don't change that. At all. All in all, a very satisfactory end, although I definitely agree the ratio needs to be a bit more biased towards the innocents. I also agree with what Babs said... We were lucky. I mean, Lee picked three of us mafia members in his first vote o.o In relation to the mini games sort of thing you mentioned, photu, I think it sounds pretty interesting. It'd help with my psychology work a bit, no doubt. Also there'd be more glaring at people. I can cope with glaring. All in all, great game, and I hope to take part next time as well. ^^

Well, to be honest with you, I knew Loogs was the Godfather because I can read her like a book. She kept asking for hints about my role, but I kept on evading. She ended up thinking Prime and I were lovers/I was the Miller or something like that, while just be hearing her giggles when she opened her PM, I figured that she had to be mafia, and that nature DECREED she had to be the Godfather. Cinders was based off seeing Photu say "Nice Signature". She was the only person I had seen change their signature in a way that would warrant that. I think that we should make items slightly difficile to obtain. I mean, some of these things are pretty much auto-win in a can if used efficiently. (Everybody! Donate your shields to the Doctor/Viggie!) I think we'll have Kevin and Pope in this next one, maybe Kara, and I forced loogs to promise more activity, so you'll see more Lady Lugiasian next go 'round. And one last note, I never actually got a chance to so much as use my powers, since I was killed the day after Pikachu died. (Stupid Mafia totally outvoted peoples. Wahhh! )

Don't expect to make multiple purchases in one day.

Good, good, looks like there's a good bit of interest. I'm thinking on Saturday I should create an official sign-up topic for the next game. That work? Or do people want a bit more down time?

Maybe it should be a once a month thing.. At the begining of every month we play a game of Mafia, winners get bragging rights.
Also... Who got the EP for this game? Is it posted somewhere?
And I would just like to add that I am a Tool.....

Ha-ha! I completely forgot about that. Hmm. Well!
The game began on January 25th, ended on February 4th, so that's nine days... times 100 EP is 900 EP... RLRL gets 100 EP for being the second Lover left alive... so that's 800 EP to be divided among Baboon, Cinders and Loogs...
RLRL gets 100 EP. Baboon gets 266 EP. Cinders get 266 EP. Loogs gets 266 EP. And I see that leaves 2 EP remaining, so I'll give those to Bulbs.
Pikachu, feel free to conduct those additions.
I don't know... a month from now feels a little... long... I confess I am impatient to get this thang started yo.

You can definitely count me in. And I believe you should start the sign ups like today or tomorrow. You can wait a week or so before you begin, but I don't think people really need a rest yet. Maybe after this game you wait a bit, but you have received a significant amount of new members, so its the opportune time to start.

We should give it at least a week until getting the next one going. Some of us need a little time to recover from all our strategerizing. :S
