- Sem: blue x2 - 8 EP (Belle, Testbug), green x1 - 4 EP (Ninety); circle x3 - 12 EP (Belle, Ninety, Sem). His highest-paying choice right now would be a blue circle, worth 20 EP. His lowest-paying choice would be a red triangle/square, worth 0 EP.
- Testbug: red x2 - 8 EP (Ninety, Sem), green x1 - 4 EP (Belle); circle x2 - 8 EP (Ninety, Sem), triangle x1 - 4 EP (Belle). His highest-paying choice right now would be a red circle, worth 16 EP. His lowest-paying choice would be a blue square, worth 0 EP.
- Belle: red x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Elliot, Testbug), blue x1 - 4 EP (Sem); triangle x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Testbug, Sem), square x1 - 4 EP (Elliot); sex x1 - FO' FREE (Ninety). Her highest-paying choice right now would be a red triangle, worth 24 EP. Her lowest-paying choice would be a green circle, worth 0 EP.
- Elliot: blue x4 - 0 EP (Ninety, Belle, Testbug, Sem); square x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Testbug, Sem), triangle x1 - 4 EP (Belle). His highest-paying choice right now would be a square of any color, worth 12 EP. His lowest-paying choice would be a circle of any color, worth 0 EP.
- Ninety: blue x2 - 8 EP (Elliot, Belle), green x1 - 4 EP (Testbug), red x1 - 4 EP (Sem); triangle x3 - 12 EP (Elliot, Belle, Sem), circle x1 - 4 EP (Testbug). His highest-paying choice right now would be a blue triangle, worth 20 EP. His lowest-paying choice would be a red/green square, worth 4 EP.
Our only conspicuous omission at this point is that Elliot has offered no blocks to Sem or Testbug. I'm still not going to accept PMs just yet (I'll give him a chance to correct this if he so chooses), but it's time to start getting serious about the direction your Mole suspect is moving in. Also, more game theory: you really want your Mole suspect to pick a block that's as unique as possible! Let's say you suspect player A, and players A and B both end up choosing the same block. If player A really is the Mole, then anyone who's gunning for player B just got some free points too. They might just scrape past you on the quiz and you could be the one executed, even though their suspicion is wrong! Think about this.

but ninety we just finishedalso by blue square for Sem I definitely meant any color square except for blue so let's go with green and this Also, more game theory: you really want your Mole suspect to pick a block that's as unique as possible! wouldn't it also stand to reason that if your choice picks a block that is the same color/shape as the actual mole, provided your suspect is not him/her, it could in fact save you?

Exactly. In that case, you're "anyone who's gunning for Player B" in the scenario I described, the one who's hitching a free ride to Pointsburgh without having truly earned it. You filthy moocher.

I notified Elliot but he hasn't filled in his remaining requests yet... Let's give this until the end of tomorrow, after which I'll freeze the requests and accept PMs. Check up on what your Mole's been offered!

Sem, why don't you take a green triangle? It's like a forest triforce! Testy, take this red circle, it's like an open wound.

The sixth execution ceremony actually begins now. Before the challenge wrapup, you ask? Yes, indeed. I like the thought of contextualizing the challenge wrapup with everyone already knowing who's been executed, instead of the other way around. Just adds that sick little extra twist which really sets me apart as a loathsome scumbag host. You know how this works. I'm not going to reveal the execution victim right away. Instead, you players must post in this topic -- post anything at all -- in order to volunteer to receive your results. I'll reply to you with a gray thumbprint much like this one. Exactly like this one, actually. Click on that image and a new thumbprint will be displayed. If the new thumbprint is green, you passed the sixth quiz and are cleared to continue on to the next episode. If the new thumbprint is red, then you are the Mole's eighth victim. You have been executed, and will no longer participate in the game. I don't think there's much need to impose a time limit any longer, with so few of you remaining. We'll proceed until the executed player steps forward. As I mentioned earlier, I've withheld Sem's decision until now. After he originally took the quiz, I asked him to choose either Elliot or Testbug as the unlucky target of his "batman", or else to cash the ability in for 20 EP as did Biscuit in our last episode. His choice was... to use the "batman". Elliot, I'm sorry, but you have lost your "joker". The +2 bonus to your score is negated, and the team foregoes the 20 EP on the table. Testbug keeps his "joker".
Feeling competitive, eh, Sem? To be honest I'm not surprised, after what happened to Biscuit last time. Nevertheless, casting the "batman" on Elliot hasn't necessarily saved you from execution this round. In fact, if he's really the Mole, you just pulled quite a chump move... That's all. If you would like to receive your results, post anything at all now.

Time for the challenge wrapup, I'd say. - Sem: green x3 - 12 EP (Belle, Ninety, Elliot), blue x1 - 4 EP (Testbug); circle x3 - 12 EP (Belle, Ninety, Sem), triangle x1 - 4 EP (Elliot). His highest-paying choice was a green circle, worth 24 EP. His lowest-paying choice was a red square, worth 0 EP.
Sem chose a blue circle, worth 16 EP.
- Testbug: red x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Sem, Testbug), green x1 - 4 EP (Belle); circle x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Sem, Testbug), triangle x1 - 4 EP (Belle). His highest-paying choice was a red circle, worth 24 EP. His lowest-paying choice was a blue square, worth 0 EP.
Testbug chose a green circle, worth 16 EP.
- Belle: red x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Elliot, Testbug), blue x1 - 4 EP (Sem); triangle x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Testbug, Sem), square x1 - 4 EP (Elliot); sex x1 - FO' FREE (Ninety). Her highest-paying choice was a red triangle, worth 24 EP. Her lowest-paying choice was a green circle, worth 0 EP.
Belle chose a red triangle, worth 24 EP.
- Elliot: blue x4 - 0 EP (Ninety, Belle, Testbug, Sem); square x3 - 12 EP (Ninety, Testbug, Sem), triangle x1 - 4 EP (Belle). His highest-paying choice was a square of any color, worth 12 EP. His lowest-paying choice was a circle of any color, worth 0 EP.
Elliot chose a green square, worth 12 EP.
- Ninety: blue x2 - 8 EP (Elliot, Belle), green x1 - 4 EP (Testbug), red x1 - 4 EP (Sem); triangle x3 - 12 EP (Elliot, Belle, Sem), circle x1 - 4 EP (Testbug). His highest-paying choice was a blue triangle, worth 20 EP. His lowest-paying choice was a red/green square, worth 4 EP.
Ninety chose a green triangle, worth 16 EP.
Poor Elliot. Knowing as we do now that he was innocent, it's hard to avoid suspecting that the Mole might have deliberately worked to sabotage his block choices, resulting in a situation where color was a completely worthless toss-up for Elliot, and he could only earn EP based on the block's shape. Seemingly, between his username color, Yoshimitsu's hair, and Bustin's hue of choice, the cultural association with blue was just a bit too strong. The blame gravitates toward two individuals in particular. First, Sem, though he admitted to being confused by the rules, really should've given them a second glance before piling on the fourth request for Elliot to take a blue square, reducing its value to 0 EP. Then, in a rather boggling move, Belle chastised Sem for so behaving but then changed her request... to a blue triangle! Since she hadn't changed the color of the block, Elliot was still receiving blue requests from all four other players, leaving him in that no-win scenario where no color added any EP value. And why couldn't Sem have responded to Belle's comment and adjusted his request accordingly? Frankly, they both came off looking equally suspicious there. Though, at least Belle was the only one out of the four remaining players who actually chose the color-shape combination that yielded the highest possible value for her. Sem, Testbug and Ninety all chose less-than-optimal blocks, forfeiting 4 EP in Ninety's case and 8 EP each by the other two. What can explain this behavior? If "The Nursery Party" had taken place before the quiz like a normal challenge, and there were no predictive element at play -- you were just asking each other to take some blocks -- then these decisions would read as pure sabotage, plain and simple. The three gentlemen were sacrificing EP in order to attract suspicion. But with the challenge positioned as it was, we can't be sure... In any of these cases, the player might have chosen the block he did with an eye not toward making the most EP, but of how his choice was going to fit in with other people's predictions. As I said earlier, part of the theory behind this challenge suggested that you wouldn't want other people to get free points for their predictions if they weren't actually gunning for the right Mole. It's likely that any or all of our three musketeers chose inferior blocks in order to avoid overlapping with their Mole targets, thus setting the Mole's decision apart more cleanly. Or, of course, it could just be that they're a trio of scumbags who sacrificed EP in order to attract suspicion. Who knows!!!! In any case, I can tell you this. The team could have scored 24 x 5 = 120 EP in this challenge. In practice, you came up 36 short, but still netted a respectable 84 EP. That amount goes to the team, while the remaining 36 goes to the Mole. You're closing the gap, but our villain finishes another episode ahead... THE TEAM POT: 325 EP THE MOLE'S POCKET: 353 EP

And... well. That just leaves the execution result to discuss. There are things I would love to tell you about the scoring on this quiz, but upon consideration, it might betray too much, and I'll have to save that discussion for the finale. However, I can tell you this, although I won't put it behind a spoiler or anything because it's not a huge holy shit revelation: If Sem had targeted Testbug rather than Elliot with the "batman", Elliot would still be in the game.Notice that I do not say: " Testbug would have been executed instead." Maybe he would have, sure. Or maybe he's the Mole and using the "batman" on him wouldn't have done anything anyway. Or maybe he scored so well on the quiz that losing the "joker" wouldn't have threatened him, and someone else would have been next in line at the chopping-block. Once again, you won't know until the finale, I'm afraid. But this much is certain: it wouldn't have been Elliot. Though he couldn't have known anyone else's quiz scores, the slap on the wrist which Sem administered to Elliot turned out deadly. You've had, then, a pretty fine Batman 101 demonstration in these two episodes. You saw Biscuit take the high road and return his "batman" for 20 EP, a move which may well have cost him the game. And you saw Sem actually dare to employ this ability against another player, Elliot, and so contribute directly to that contestant's downfall. You've seen what power the "batman" holds. It's just too bad you won't be seeing any more "batmen"... because, like exemptions, there are no more "batmen" available in the game. There's just one "joker" remaining, in the upcoming episode. And if you catch it, it's yours to keep. No one can take it away. But you might find that getting ahold of this one demands a good bit more than picking up a suitcase or walking down a corridor... You'll understand what I mean soon enough. * * * Let's pause before retiring, though, and honor Elliot, who, despite a certain initial reluctance, shaped up to be one of the game's most formidable contestants. Starting with his grand move downstage in "The High-Draw Game", he boasted an uncanny knack for benefitting from actions and decisions in which he seemed to have only a partial hand or no hand at all. He was the recipient of the game's first exemption and the game's first "joker", and managed to attract a modest but healthy amount of suspicion from other players along the way. Ultimately, though, it seems his theories about the Mole's identity were ill-placed... or else he was just very, very bad at keeping tabs on that player's behavior. Nevertheless, godspeed you blue emperor! Oh, I should have mentioned that making it to the final five earns you an obituary when you get executed. Actually I would have written one for Biscuit too, but it kind of got washed away in the flood of divine fecal matter. Besides, that Road to Perdition video said it all, didn't it? Anyway! That's one more devious, perplexing, and inordinately entertaining episode of "The Mole" down. Tentatively I'd aim for beginning Episode 07 on July 9th, the same day Episode 01 began last year. A whole year, can you believe it. This is truly the Post Race V of things that aren't Post Race V. But we'll be done by the end of the summer, I promise you that. I'll see you in a few.
