Why not a grizzled war chick and a cold, emotionally broken war veteran?

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA I just noticed this and how it is based on very erroneous information. So, let me take a moment to get the record straight: I am totally fine if you want to go ahead and criticize my character and give him a -1, but at least back up your score with accurate information. Let's go ahead and dissect this: Hector, apart from being a depraved bisexual[/b] You s--no wait, that's pretty much correct (if a little laced with anti-bisexual sentiment, something I'm totally not down with, but whatevs, that's another argument for another day) who goes after anything that moves also has a family for no validly explored reason[/b] Vathale tricked him into having a kid with her to cure Kioshi of his evil side blah blah blah. Half of that storyline was bullshit but I'm sure I can totally retcon that into something way better because in retrospect, that plotline totally sucked ass and I have no idea what I was thinking, but what's past is past and now I just have to work with it. while is also apparently betrothed to one of Kara's characters... what?[/b] I have absolutely no idea where Kara even got that notion. Hector =/= Avian Ryora, therefore Nagisa is NOT engaged to Hector. jegus urgh. Now consider that he has new powers as the plot demands half the time.[/i] Hector hasn't done anything like that since back in the Power Wars era couple years back. I think you're thinking of Grab Bag Yoshi. As a character, he's hard to keep up with because his personality just doesn't seem to gel at all.[/i] I can see how being irresponsible, unfaithful, and reckless can make one a tad unlikeable to others, and the same totally applies if you happen to be a fictional character, but Hector's personality has certainly remained steady for some time now, I mean I can't name many instances where he's acted out of character. I will give you this, his personality is a little one-dimensional, but I'll make sure to get right on that. I've yet to see any character motivation"]No, this world does not belong to you. And I'll sacrifice my life to keep it safe... for all of us, but especially Pleiades..." His speed increased significantly, and as he rocketed through the air his body glowed red and orange and gold. A large aura of fire began to build up around him as Hector, sword held right in front of him, prepared to crash directly into Vincent, hoping to knock him away and stop him from decapitating the dragon. and he seems to change based on his author's whims and not for a validly explored reason.I honestly can't think of a single time that has happened recently. I feel like every time I've RPed with him in the past year or two I've kept him in character for the most part. If I am being wrong and stupid, please provide evidence. Don't think this is me trying to stir up drama or anything, Yoshi, I would just appreciate it if your ratings were based on more accurate information instead of either outdated or erroneous facts, and I'm actually not sure if you even knew some of this information wasn't correct.

That's my perception of Hector based on the past year basically. I'm not starting drama, I'm rating based on what I see and have seen.
If I was trying to start drama, I would've been all "SO HEY STEPH SEEN WHAT I SAID ABOUT HECTOR YET" in the shoutbox.

No, I know you weren't trying to start drama, it's just that some of that information is again, outdated or inaccurate. For example, in the past year, I've stuck to Hector's basic powers of pyrokinesis and Phoenix Angel, so I'm not sure what you mean by me granting him new plot-specific powers, at least not in the past year.

Second thoughts, let me be mature about it.
It's my opinion of your character, and it's up to you to prove me wrong through your literary prowess.
You might consider reading what Pohatu said about Yoshimitsu.

No, I read Pohatu's thing. I know what you are trying to say.
My gripe isn't that you are criticizing Hector and you are wrong because he's actually completely awesome and perfect. On some points you are completely spot-on (his personality could totally use some more work because it is flat and kinda cliche/not very interesting, and some parts of his backstory could use some clarification and/or complete redoing: all points I plan to address in Radiance.) It's just that some of the basis on which you rated him really isn't even correct anymore (the grab bag powers, that thing with Kara seriously wtf was that and where did everyone ever get that idea)
But whatevs, I can just ignore the wrong stuff, it's the main problems in the personality and maybe some snazzing up of his fighting technique that I need to focus on while I'm writing Radiance. And then maybe Hector will get 4s and 5s I'll show you just you wait I'm gonna rub it in all your stupid smug faces

Welcome to the point of the Popularity Polls. Yes, but criticism based on things that aren't even true isn't going to help me one bit. I know what the point of the Popularity Poll was fackin' jeezus urgh

Hector, apart from being a depraved bisexual [/b] You s--no wait, that's pretty much correct (if a little laced with anti-bisexual sentiment, something I'm totally not down with, but whatevs, that's another argument for another day)[/quote] For the record, I'm pretty sure "depraved bisexual" was meant to invoke a TVTropes page of the same name which is specifically about bisexuals who are portrayed as depraved, not passing judgment on bisexuals in general. I think Elliot is up on his TVTropes. I am like ninety-nine percent certain. EDIT: He totally is because " anything that moves" is a similar reference. EDIT #2: so is "new powers as the plot demands" okay I'll stop now

BTW, El, I've done some research, and it's been found that human beings actually do have the ability to sense the magnetic field of the earth. It's very, very weak compared to birds and the like, but human beings do have deposits of magnetic-sensitive minerals in their body which allow them to sense direction (interestingly enough, it's in the nose region. You Nosepass fans might find that bit of trivia fun).
I have no idea where I read it, tho'. It might have been on Cracked, or maybe it was in one of those "Weird Nature" Books that so enjoy discussing odd senses and the like.
