Thanks to Loogs for drawing a picture of Ernest, the homicidal Space Marine with the personality and traits of a man from the 1920's. Seriously, great job, best representation I've seen out of the other 3!

Been a while since I made anything... and it's gonna continue to be a while. ¬_¬ img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/Andurin/misc/shieldcopy.jpgMade that for the cover page of a group review of the 300 for a presentation. I did it really quickly and stuff, but used it as practice to get my scratched up metal look... I kinda got it... kinda...

It's a semi-quote from the 300, but it mostly refers to how Spartan mothers, when their child /husband would leave for battle, would give them their shield and say "E tan, e epi tas," meaning "with this, or upon this," because for a Spartan, you either come home glorious after winning the battle (with your shield), or you die with honor on the battlefield (and get carried home upon your shield). It may or may not be just a legend, but it's still pretty deep.

With photoshop, you take the pen tool, trace a path around a certain area, then fill the path with a color. Suffice to say, it takes a long time, especially because the pen tool has a steep learning curve. I mean, I've used it several times, and I'm still uncomfortable doing the entire piece with just the pen tool and the fill hotkeys and many many layers. Here's a tutorial I stumbled upon, but I didn't use any tutorials for my thing. It might help get you started. www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-vector.html

My most recent picture, one of my many persona, this girl is named (after much hard labor to create a name) Firefox. She reigns over the natural world. Because I say so. And she looks important. Just presenting an example of how I'm improving oh-so-much. -rolls eyes- -sticks out tongue, and blinds herself with many lens flares on Photoshop-

Everything in that picture is awesome. Except the lens flare. I want to eat the lens flare because it draws so much attention to itself and it doesn't make sense unless you look at it for a while. >.>

Vector Tutorial. ^^ It uses Adobe Illustrator, but if you use a different programme, the tools are probably the same. Oh, and I didn't make this, if you didn't guess.

Hehe, I like how that tutorial begins. Then I got bored of waiting for it to load, so I stopped it. Really, the only "trick" is knowing how to follow the actual shadows and highlights of the picture you're vectoring.

Well, the tutorial I had suggested posterizing the picture and useing it as a reffrence for the shadeing. But it's still confuseing as hell, lol
