So I'm not the only one that follows this series. Awesome.

I haven't watched all of his videos. Maybe like a third. I prefer watching Seananners' stuff. That guy is hilarious.

Um... I'm stuck in the Nether. My Portal deactivated and I have no way to reignite it.
I'm hoping a ghast (which I suspect deactivated it) will hit it with a fireball and reactivate it. Otherwise, I have to die to leave. I'm not going to die if I can avoid it.
Update: I died. Not from a ghast, at least not directly, but by fire. Somehow I caught on fire by standing too close to it. No, I wasn't touching it, but I guess I was too close. I guess this will at least allow me to make some more preparations.

So, could you people simply... well, stop using image tags here, if you're not going to resize the picture to not keep breaking the margins on the 30 Most Recent? The horizontal scrolling is leaving me positively aghast.

I'm curious, what do you guys really want to see added to Minecraft?
I'd like to see a flying enemy in the normal world, not one that's too powerful but something (something different from bats). I'd also like to see some new tiles for the deep ocean sections. I realize that it can sound kinda lame, since most people will never want to go that deep, but I still think it'd be cool. (Maybe use certai deep sea blocks to enhance farming? Maybe use others to make better swords, or some other such thing? I don't know, but that'd be cool.) Also a deep sea nemy would be awesome. Notch has apparently talked about adding sharks and whales, but I'd like something other than sharks to fight. Maybe a giant anglar fish.
Also, I want more plants that can be farmed. Maybe one that heals more than wheat (as bread) does, but takes much much longer to grow. Also a plant that can be farmed that could have different colors that could be used for wallpaper would be pretty cool too. (I heard cloth was originally going to be used for this, but now it's being phased out or something. I'll have to look into this again later).
Finally, I want more from Hell/The Nether/ The Slip. It's an interesting area to enter and build in, but there isn't much in it yet. I realize that it was advertised primarily as a way to quickly travel from place to place in the real world, but I can tell that I'm going to have a hard time getting from base to base by traveling in that world, so hopefully there will be something that gives me more cause to go there.
Also, do ghasts make a sound? I realize that this is irrelevant for me, but I'd still really like to know if they do and, if they do, what sound they make. That way, one this sound issue gets fixed, I'll be better prepared for them.

I think ghasts might make those blood curdling screams. I've also heard that their screams aren't affected by distance, so they always sound like they're right next to you.
In the future, cloth will be dye-able, so yeah.
I want trap doors. And doors that let in water/lava. That way I can control flow using redstone and I can make pitfalls without tnt. I also want secret doors. Like the gravel secret entrance I made that opens when you hit a torch, except I want it to reset automatically because that secret door I made has two sets of gravel and a water flow that need to be manually reset, and i think a torch might be consumed in the process.

Good golly, I forgot about trap doors! That's something that I'd like to make too.
Btw, bring cacti (and sand) with you when you go to the Nether. It's gotten me a lot of grilled pork. (I don't use it, but still, i figured it would be a handy tip for everyone else.)

reading the halloween bug list thread on the minecraft forum is like reading youtube comments.
it's also like watching a train wreck. i can't stop. it's so terrible.
it is like these children 1) don't know how to read a thread, which is understandable given the size of said thread, 2) don't know how to read an OP, which is not understandable given that it's an OP, 3) don't understand how game testing works, 4) don't understand how computers work.
i do not understand how i live in a world full of dumb dumbs.

Fuck Minecraft. It's so awesome and addicting... but it's the ONLY game that leaves me with this knacking feeling that I'm getting nowhere. Like, all of my work is just for nothing. It annoys me greatly.
Ohhh I think I'm going to build a maze here...

that's probably because it doesn't have a point yet besides "find diamond so you can find more diamond" since it's in early alpha.
a lot of people seem to forget that they've bought software testing tickets and not an actual game. it is what makes me facepalm at everyone who yells at Notch.

I know what you mean. We're getting every single update that comes along from the point we buy it on and it's not like the game costs a lot to begin with. That's a pretty sweet deal.
I mean, I can understand when he puts an update out and it pretty much breaks the game. But that aside the guy is doing an awesome job putting a game together without much help from anyone else (remember, he's not making the music). And this is while he's getting a company together among other things. I read that he's going to take a few days off from coding and I think that that's fine. He just unleashed a monster update and had to quickly make a patch for it too.
Although, I have to say; if the sound doesn't work on my other computer then I am going to go and talk to him directly. I can't find squat on that forum that is helpful (I've looked, my girlfriend has looked. We've tried.)

Oh, that is so sad.
Anyways, have you noticed that the Halloween update has resulted in a lot of tall square mountains with flat sides? I've found several natural towers, kinda ruins Sky Sanctuary.
Also, I'm waiting to just fall off one of those sudden sheer cliffs. I swear, my mountains look like someone cut them with a knife then took a huge chunk of it away.

Chunk spawn errors. The whole biome thing has made matching up landscape a little less good, I think.

Speaking of being sad, I'm a tad disappointed that my monster drowner doesn't work since nothing spawns in it ;_; 12 8*8*3 rooms for spawning, pitch black. Dug all around the areas and filled in or lit up all the nearby caverns. It worked giving about 2-3k items per hour before the 1.2.0 update, but now nothing spawns in it, period. Here's some screenshots: This is just a simple approach area, decorated by bookcases from my water reed farm back at my main base. This is my main storage area (the last thing that was fully completed). Ovens and toolboxes are for decoration and utility. Overall, well-lit to hell to prevent random spawns in the wrong area. The safe room and the collecting area for the automated part of the trap (just stand at the end of the water and let the items come to you). Bookcases are just for decorative purposes. The main drowning area from the bottom as well as the area where the multiple streams become one to keep all the items together. The spider killing area. Since spiders are too fat and too flat to fit in the main drowning area, I added in this area to prevent clog-ups from spiders while the trap is running. The only way you can actually collect string is to go up there and pick it up, but I wasn't really looking for string as wool blocks are easier to collect from sheep and I've already got plenty of string for bows. Very simple, spiders get pushed out by water, try to go forward/for me and get killed by cactuses. Just a utility area. Infinite water springs for my spawning areas and a garbage disposal area for excessive cobblestone and gravel. The drowning area from the top as well as the area where the spiders get pushed into screenshot 5. In this area, it's most important that you have less than 8 blocks of non-waterfall area so that the water overflows at the edge to create the downward force. Works quite simply, the monsters jump down from the spawning areas into the water, get pushed into the glass. Spiders go through and get killed at the cactuses; all other monsters get shoved down into the waterfall and get trapped there by the downward force and end up drowning after a while. Items go through from under the glass by the way of water (screenshot 4) and get pushed by the way of several rivers (screenshot 2, on the right) down to the safe room (screenshot 3). This is one of my spawning areas (usually, without the light, obviously). Simple 8*8*3 room with water source blocks at the ends of the room (8 length is most important, since if you do less than that, the water will flow over to the next level and give the monsters the ability to climb back up into the deeper spawning areas and if you do more, they won't be pushed over the edge. 8 width is variable. 6-10 seems to be best results. 3 blocks high is high enough for the non-neutral mobs to walk and jump around and no wasted head-room). Very simple setup. Monsters spawn on stone, wander and fall down into the lower areas or the water (and then get pushed down into lower areas). Each spawning area is separated by 2 blocks of height to prevent them jumping back up and at the same time, to minimize the space not used for spawning areas. ****NOTE: Trap design is not mine, but is a somewhat modified version of an existing trap****

man why would you zip up screenshots. are you trying to make me not look at them?
because i'm not looking at them.
and i've built a lot of traps, so i'm okay at monster spawn/death/sink/burn/chase mechanics now.

I wasn't able to properly build a drowning trap either.
So I made a new world and I'm writing a story based on my experiences.

@ch00bs: Because generally people bitch about having to look at pictures separately.
@blood: Mine was working quite well before they changed how the spawns work... >> If you like, I can explain how mine was working to you and see if you want to create one yourself. The main thing, though, is that you need to do it in a very well lit area to prevent monsters from spawning in the wrong areas. I did mine underground so that I can minimize the areas where things can spawn

It's kinda hard not to do it underground. Thanks but no thanks, I'll figure it out later.

Well... Some of the gravity traps extend above ground and some of the basic lava traps are on the surface to trap the wandering non-neutral mobs.
P.S. Screenshots re-done with descriptions underneath each pic. Maybe someone can point out why the spawning areas don't work now... P.P.S. If y'all want more details, feel free to ask, I'd be glad to help out. The design was somewhat borrowed, but partially modified.
