And hear me out for a second here. I know I don't have fancy-pants storylines on account of just plain not being here, and I can't write all fancyish like Pohatu, but I've got an idea for a big new storyline here.
I'm not going to say a lot, but I'll tell you enough to decide and start planning if you've got characters who could possibly participate.
spoilers what spoilers there aren't any uninteresting spoilers here move along now
Actually, I'm planning on splitting the RP into two halves at the beginning. One from Hector's point of view, and the other from his brother Dimitri and Ivan's point of view seeing as Dimitri is also royalty and blah blah blah. Also it's an excuse to start expanding my roster again.
I was wondering if anyone wants to get in on this on either side or if no one cares and would rather get back to posting in Crystal or Ishkawhatevervolumeitsonnow thank you very much. Because whenever I start my own RP, I'm lucky if I get past 5 in-character posts.
One more thing: as maybe two of you will remember, Dimitri's actually assuming fox form, because of soul possession and whathave you and human bodies usually reject him after a while. I was wondering if anyone has a real science-y character who can work with him and Ivan on creating a new body with full Raiixian powers and pretty much looking close to what Hector looks like. If there is anyone who has a character who does that stuff, please see me.
Thank you for your time. You may resume doing whatever it is you were doing.

OKAY FINE. SINCE NO ONE APPARENTLY CARES ABOUT A GOOD OL' BRAWLING TOPIC, THEN MAYBE WE CAN JUST MAKE THIS NINE PAGES OF EVERYONE PLAYING DIPLOMAT OVER COFFEE AND SCONES[/i]
Is that better? Will that finally make someone care about my RPs?

Diplomats and scones? Loogs, cut it out before Photu gets overexcited.
And don't discount yourself on who you'd get. Provided you were reliably around, a good quest topic will typically net you DL, El, and a few others (Members to look into: Shoni, Cendra, Kevin, Iron Mouse, etc.) If you play up the political intrigue, you could net yourself Pohatu or Evil Biscuit, too, and Kara will almost always be willing to jump into another quest with you. Blood or Lone might be possible people, since they like quests, but they can go into inactive cycles at times.
I myself would volunteer, but I don't know that I have enough time/ability to keep up. We'll see what my workload is, but I think I'm too tied up as is.

Yeah actually, where IS Kara when you need her? Raiixian plotlines almost always mean mentions of Avian Ryora and she'd be all over that like a fat kid in a bacon room. Those others don't look like they've been active for a while, and El says he doesn't have anyone for the job.
It's not exactly a quest topic, as we're not going to be traveling much. I think it's mostly gonna consist of ah who am I kidding this totally smells like a quest topic.
And see that's the thing. Everyone's too busy with whatever's already established like Ishka or Crystal or Triannual or Stray Dogs and then I get pushed aside whenever I want to get something started. I'm lucky if this concept gives Pohatu even a half-boner.

Blah blah blah and now we have to defeat the new dictatorship so that Raiixia will be safe once more. But of course, there are darker forces at work and whatever is aiding and controlling the minority faction that seized power is something a lot more sinister than everyone imagines. NINE PAGES OF EVERYONE PLAYING DIPLOMAT OVER COFFEE AND SCONES[/i][/quote]

I'm not involved with any of the above. Well, I was involved in Ishkabibble but I haven't had anything to do with it in so long that I forgot about it (I'm sure this is somewhat akin to blasphemy). So... I'm kinda open. Everything I'm waiting on and a part of is waiting on everyone else =P

Look, Steph
Steph
Right
Here's the thing
And this is all meant nicely and politely so don't like, do a spectacular jack knife off the handle and get a wink and a nod from the president
The thing is
You're going about this all wrong
You got some great ideas and yeah they really are good, this whole Raiixian overthrowing thing and what you told me, it's all great and it's the sort of plot that works well. I totally dig it and I could probably find a way to work some of my characters into it (though it'd be in a totally hardcore, foreshadowy kind of way).
But you're selling it all wrong. And by selling it all wrong, I mean you're doing that spectacular jack knife off the handle when people either don't immediately reply, or they hint that a part of it isn't their style or anything potentially negative and it's just kind of, "Okay, well, if she's gonna explode there then I don't much fancy RPing with her". I get that you're upset that people aren't replying and stuff, believe me I do because it's happened to me before, but you're not really helping your case.
Instead of dropping a bombshell of a plot on people, what about trying to build it up slowly with different scenes and topics that have different content, some more action and some more drama and some could even have scones. I know some of my characters could definitely get behind the scone action. But yeah, you could try making it a gradual thing, because people might be more likely to join in because it's not like "oh wow look at all this stuff being thrown at us, I totally can't keep up with this".
Just some food for thought.

Yes obviously this isn't gonna start right away with the battle but my drama is usually spontaneous and improv'd. And also I would just have gone ahead and posted the topic except that whenever I just do that no one in the history of ever besides Lee and one other person has ever posted or even expressed interest in eventually posting in the topic. So understandably I don't really want to waste an hour of my life writing something that people aren't gonna read.
So, I thought I'd post this. And also, I really do need someone with some experience in cloning or making androids or cyborgs and such for the Dimitri portion.

And I'm trying to be a friend here because we're best pupa pals for life, I'm not being nasty. It's just you're painting yourself in this negative light that's putting people off wanting to work with out because they don't want you to explode and complain because of something they did that you might not strictly agree with or something. And I know that's ridiculous because you're more mature than that and you can totally prove this post and this topic wrong and be happy and smiley and co-operative.

I don't think it was a wrong move to make it clear at the beginning that there's supposed to be a big story afoot. I mean, people would be pretty confused if Ishkabibble topics just kind of started trickling in with no fanfare beforehand. Doesn't look like she did anything wrong as far as that went, and I definitely don't agree with the idea of people getting scared off by "oh wow look at all this stuff being thrown at us, I totally can't keep up with this". That happens with stuff like SWRP and Ericnox's DnD kinda thing and the Final Fantasy kind of system October or someone else proposed. Rules and numbers scare people off, not plot.
EDIT: then blah blah blah more laborious words, whatever

I'm just frustrated because I haven't hit a winning formula in the entire time I've been here. :<
By darker and sinister I didn't necessarily mean demons and magical powers and shit since actually I'm trying to work away from all that, I just meant something bigger and more powerful and full of more evil intentions than the podunk little minority that took over who only want equal rights and maybe some of them would love a fun democracy.
I only posted that because of something Choobs said and it was only half serious.
Look guys, I'm just kind of annoyed that I don't really have any major plot or anything really happening and I'd just like to establish one and maybe some allies or enemies and connections to other RPers but when I try to do that people don't really seem to do stuff.
See you guys I went an entire post without using italics, bold, or caps lock. Do I get a cookie?

Personally I was all about the idea of using a balanced breakfast of violence, subterfuge, and diplomacy to take down a dictatorship, This part particularly appeals to me because I have at least three characters who I could fit into that somehow.

I'll second the selling it wrong, and raise you a "Most people don't trust Steph to stick around, so they don't commit in the first place."
That doesn't have to be. DL has, as of recently, proved that one can be fairly invisible, while still running RPs well and keeping things going briskly. Slow and steady is the name of the pace of Archy Exy. (Though DL exploding into awesome and hitting thirty topics at once the other day WAS fairly impressive.)
If you were to, say, set a single date, once a month, that you were guaranteed to post on, faster if everybody kept up, you'd get some people for sure. A lot of people are afraid to commit to a project with a person who is known for her long hibernations (Q's going to sooo point out that it's technically brumination, just you watch.), but if you made a promise, and showed you could keep up on that one topic you were running (or maybe two, depending on how you construct the split), people would be knocking down your door.
DL's got a way in, Kara's got a way in, depending on the pace, I might have an in, El's got an in (either Fratley or SOMEBODY, I'm sure. Maybe Iliana, if none of his bigger names are up for it.), Blood and Shoni don't have connections but have serious love for quest topics, etc.
If you can prove yourself, you have a shot at this. I'll vouch for you: When it comes to quest topics, Loogs is the queen of them. Final Distance is one of my favorite topics of all time, and there's a few other classics that I wasn't lucky enough to be in. It's worth paying attention, guys, provided that she can prove that she'd be up for keeping it running.
On a side note, not asking for tons of on-board activity Loogs. As I said, a promise of a post a month is all we'd need. And also, be more patient. I think even the Homestuck RP topic, despite being put up in an era where Homestuck was the deity the Exodus worshipped, took like half a day to get a response.

Well, my saying that I wasn't really in anything that was moving was my way of saying that I have time for it. As long as you'll keep the topic rolling to some degree and not disappear for months at a time I'd consider creating a character and joining it.

Dude I loved Final Distance and looking back damn I sure wish we would have actually given it a proper conclusion. If you can manage to even find one page of that thing I will worship you forever.
I promise to stick around for a little longer guys. The only reason I stopped RPing was partly because I really needed to concentrate on passing junior year and also I hit major writer's block. But, if I can manage to keep myself busy and getting back into a writing rhythm trust me I'll be pretty active.

There needs to be a unit of measure for interest so I can say now I'm a few units more interested. "Kilohmms", maybe.

Ohm is a unit of distance.
If you want a non-com adventurer I have vieve.
I remembered that Rie is combative but she is a bitch to get in topics that don't concern her or offer money
