"The former Post Race members have killed Choobeh." The computer announced loudly, causing the only living person on board the ship to jump with surprise.
"Katana! Turn your volume down, I need to be alive in order to win!" he snapped at the computer, his heart pounding in his chest.
"Sorry sir." The computer replied in a much quieter voice.
"Have they turned on Shadow yet?"
"No sir. Despite his vehicle, Lone has a large lead on Choobeh. Large enough to discourage pursuit. The former Post Race members appear to be swimming back to the locations of their deaths." The announcement was met with relief as Blood leaned back in his chair. With few exceptions, all other Post Race members had succumbed to the mysteries that had for so long plagued the Triangle, leaving only Choobs, Shadow and himself alive. Until now.
Choobs had probably met with the worst fate; being killed by his former friends. Allegedly their had been a lot of drinking involved during the race and Blood prayed that Choobs was at least drunk for his final moments. Now it was only Shadow and himself left alive, and with one lap left to go Blood was sure that they'd both make it.
Moments later Klaxons wailed, once more causing Blood to jerk upright in shock. Spinning the chair around quickly, Blood reached for one of the small sensor systems as the computer began to speak again.
"Sir, we've detected a large pod of Sqaulodons approaching Lone's sandwich."
Blood was quiet as he turned the horns' power off, then he looked back at the sensor's screen.
"Are these the same ones that ate Kuro a few laps back?"
"No sir. That particular Squalodon appears to be dead. It is too far out of range to be entirely sure, but it is not moving."
"That's what he gets for not chewing his food!" laughed Blood. The idea of Kuro, either by ripping it's organs apart or by suffocating it was priceless, and doubtless the way that Kuro would have wanted to go.
"Sir, the Squalodons are eating Lone's sandwich." That ended all laughter right then. In a few moments, he'd be the only surviving Post Race member. A winner by default.
"But that's not the way I want to win!" Blood muttered to himself.
"Computer! Prepare the teleporter!"
"Sir, be advised that--"
"I don't care! It's too late to save the others and get out of this miserable place! We're taking saving Shadow's hide, crossing the finish line, and getting out of this miserable place!"
"But sir, the power--"
"Will hold. Do it. NOW!" He snarled, silencing the computer's protests. He then turned his attention to a large monitor that was displaying the area directly below his vessel. It took him a moment to find Shadow, who was now holding onto the giant toothpick for dear life, then he drew a circle around him, activating the teleporter in the process. A moment later Shadow was being pulled towards the Eggcarrier as the last of his sandwich was eaten by the Squalodons.
OOC: I'll need to fix this up a bit, but that'll have to wait until I'm wide awake.
