As an apology for dissin' on poor Terrian, here's the themesong for Blaise/Terrian scenes. I love songs with clapping for associating with Terrian, since it's always awesome to imagine an army of Brogues doing the clapping. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZzW9JQtiww

Great galloping f*ck yes.
Second impression: That would fit right in as one of the siller Cowboy Bebop tracks. Which is another way of saying, mad legit.

The second movement of "Nightmare to Remember" by Dream Theater fits Mandelbrot to some extent.
Lying on the table In this unfamiliar place I'm greeted by a stranger A man without a face He said, "Son do you remember? Do you even know your name?" Then he shined a light into my eyes And said, "take this for the pain."
Hopelessly drifting, Bathing in beautiful agony. I am endlessly falling, Lost in this wonderful misery. In peaceful sedation, I lay half awake And thought of the panic inside starts to fade. Hopelessly drifting, bathing in beautiful agony.
"Tell me does this hurt you?" Said the faceless man. "Can you move all of your fingers? Can you try your best to stand?" I asked about the others "Is everyone okay?" He told me not to worry As he turned and looked away.
Hopelessly drifting, Bathing in beautiful agony. I am endlessly falling, Lost in this wonderful misery. In peaceful sedation, I lay half awake And thought of the panic inside starts to fade. Hopelessly drifting, bathing in beautiful agony.
It's also sung in a very distant manner, and the guitar is very trance-like. I can't find a video of that particular segment because it's right in the middle of the song, and most youtube videos are only split in half, not thirds, and the rest of the song is really hevay and doesn't fit Mandelbrot at all.
I think Potato might be the only one to understand all the Mandelbrot-y-ness of the song, though.

"Highheel Runaway" from the Darker than Black OST. I know nothing about this show, but its soundtrack was composed by the always-badass Yoko Kanno (of Cowboy Bebop fame), and her badassery is in full evidence here. I immediately thought of Terrian running the grift on some unsuspecting fat cat, together with a female accomplice whom I thought might be Blaise but would actually more likely be Helen. I figure Blaise would be more of a fixer than a shill. (Yes, following the formation of Terrian's crew, we are no doubt going to see him and his allies running ever-increasingly-ballsy and high-budget long cons not for the money, but purely to see how much they can get away with. Whether they'll be nice enough to mail back the cash afterward remains to be seen.)

If Charles Tanner were a boss in a video game, this would be his music. Course, he actually gets to perpetrate some onscreen villainy in Ishkabibble, so we'll call it his theme there. I guess between this and 0 it should be pretty clear that I'm totally in love with the Code Geass soundtrack. The show itself, from the handful of episodes I've seen, is pretty much just decent-to-good (Cons: Can't decide whether to ham it up or take itself seriously. Pros: Jeremiah L. Motherfuckin' Gottwald), but the score is mindblowing.

As part of my attempt to revive SWRP, and along with it, the attached fiction and such, I'll present the two bits of music I consider the best OPs for it. Season 1: Season 2Still haven't found great endings for it, though.

This one makes me think of Natalie, for some reason (wait till it kicks into full gear). Maybe appropriate for that Africa-centered RP Lee's planning? The one that was supposed to come before Ishkabibble and then by the grace of Lee is now scheduled for sometime after it? And yes, I am in love with the Code Geass OST; thanks for noticing.

End Game Theme SongI suppose I cheated because I did the musical equivalent to a 'shop and crop. That's the last 4 or 5 minutes of Dream Theater's The Count of Tuscany. The song has really stupid lyrics for the most part, so I took them out by crossfading it with the instrumental version. But other than that, I think the music really fits End Game's story progression.

Reviving this thread. Expect posts tomorrow night where I showcase Zebedee's combat theme and Blaise's overall theme. BOTH OF WHICH COME FROM SCRABBLE. Yes.
This thread should never leave the first page.
BTW, did Blood ever post a theme for Alyssa? I remember him saying something about woodwinds, but I'm not sure if he ever gave a song.

Time for a giant ensemble music smash. Oh shit. For Terrian, Hurousha no Tema ("The Vagrants' Theme", I'd give it as, but maybe Q knows better) from Tokyo Godfathers. This isn't taking over as his official theme music or anything, but it's a helpful piece to listen to for him these days, with its considerably more sour take on his usual big-band aesthetic. The endless repetition of the same two motives is significant, too. As far as Rhometer and Higgledy-Piggledy are concerned, I continue to be attracted to the melody-defyingly neoclassical works of Gyorgi Ligeti, like the tenth movement of his Musica Ricercata suite. This would be good background music if we ever see Rhometer's angry side (it is not pretty). You can't go wrong with the Code Geass soundtrack for Charles Tanner. All-out Attacks suits him to a tee. Love that rumbling piano entrance. Great rhythm. And I know, I know, you guys don't believe me when I post these kinds of upbeat action-y themes for him. Give it time. The Giarrettiera brothers can make do jointly with Astor Piazzolla's Fugata, which is a pretty badass example of a pretty badass genre (tango). True, tango is Argentinian rather than Italian, but Astor Piazzolla is pretty friggin' Italian by heritage and you can tell. Just, uh... Just ignore those visuals in that video, though. Not really sure what the idea was, there. Lest I leave Laksha out in the cold, she gets Aganju by Bebel Gilberto. This time there's no excuse for confounding her Indian heritage with a Brazillian song, but let's just look past nationalities and recognize the Universal Music of Language. Anyway Q knows this one. She'll approve. On the subject of the lady folks, Yoon Mangjeol is one of my hardest characters to pin down musically so far (and no, I don't have any Korean music among my iTunes as far as I know). But (again, Q will agree) you can't go wrong with some Cirque du Soleil music, and an old favorite of ours, Egypte from the show Mystere, will do nicely for Yoon for the moment. It's got the right level of exotic intrigue. You'll probably think Commissioner Williams is cooler than he actually is if I give him a Miles Davis jam sesh, but Black Satin suits him quite well. Despite the rather whimsical main motive, there's a lot of dark and discordant stuff in there, and an overall sense of building tension. It would be unwise to take Williams for a buffoon. Masha & Misha Kolychev have what would be a fantastic debut background piece in the form of Stroll Through the Sky from Howl's Moving Castle. A scene of pocketpicking, repercussions, Power usage and escape plays out easily in the mind. Hey, don't blame them. They've got to make a living somehow, and I'm pretty sure they're probably orphans or something. And, saving the best for last, Shouta Minamoto cannot be understood without listening to Yuki, Maon, Madobe Nite from one of the Suzumiya Haruhi character CDs. This piece is so far over the top it breaks free of the planet's gravitational pull and just floats out there in space being ear-meltingly awesome. That's Shouta in a nutshell, folks.
