The first few bursts of light made Revenant extremely glad that he wore sunglasses beneath his mask. Even with the protection from his glasses, his eyes still smarted with the light. The two face blows were ignored, at least the punching part. Revenant had to chuckle. That was one of three places where he wouldn't mind getting slugged. The blazing light, however, did slightly burn his skin, and make it harder for him to see the next attack coming for him.
Revenant barely slid clear of the psionic blade, the weapon ripping a cloud of tatters from his jacket, and drawing a small spray of blood from his side. Though Revenant was minding all of the major blows, he could feel his foes nickel and diming away at him. Dozens of small to medium sized cuts covered his body, as well as an array of first-degree burns.
Revenant desperately brought up his arm to block Airin's attack. He then windmilled his arms, trying to throw off the balance of anybody locked in combat with him. After this brief disruption, he rolled backwards, and then took a ready stance approximately ten feet away from the battle.

Dracon landed next to Lee. "Yo, I gotta put the fire out. You'll have to fend them off, until I draw a water dragon and put this thing out..." Dracon disappeared in the smoke, and a loud roar followed.
Soon, the orange flames began to die down, but they were still out of control. "DAMN," Dracon said in a slithery tongue. "I cannot put them out quick enough... I will be out in a minute Lee... Hopefully..."

Dave smiled slightly. He and his friends made Revenant back off. Not surprising: three on one was hardly fair. He stepped forward a few paces toward Revenant. He brought his hands up and slowly two large spheres of blackness appeared. They seemed to take the light and heat away from the air around them, sucking it all in, gaining more power, growing more cold. They could freeze anything with which they came into contact -- literally as cold as space, or more so.
He flung them at Revenant as hard as he could. Even flying through the air they drew more light into them, making them pulse with what energy they had.

A black dragon landed in front of the ball, and gripped the energy tightly. Apparently Dracon made it out just in time. Ice began to form over the scales of his hands, and an immense pain shot up his arms. They began to shake violently, and he managed to do a 360 and use inertia to send the ball back at Dave.
Dracon let out a loud roar of pain, as blood began to squirt out of his hands. His body melted away, and it left Dracon standing there with mangled hands. He reached into his sketch book, barely being able to lift the pages. His fingers left blood stains on the drawing, and he pitifully threw it up into the air. It glowed with luminosity that blinded anyone near it for a short time, and he began to change. His body swirled in a big red cloud and snapped back together.
His appearance changed dramatically: he had become a giant flaming dragon, though his skeletal structure was visible. To the naked eye, he seemed nothing more than dragon bones engulfed in flame, but even the bones of a dragon can be powerful. "You shall pay for setting the forest on fire. I will now draw on the power which you set off..."
Dracon let out a loud roar, and the flames from the forest began to meld with the flames already burning at his bones. He grew larger, and his temperature skyrocketed. He was now fifteen to sixteen times his original size, flying through the sky, like the sun had sent some kind of hell upon earth.

James laughed and laughed, almost falling over with the strength of his laughter. He projected his thoughts into Dracon's mind. <You think it was wise, drawing in the fires of my mind?> He reached out to them, and extinguished them, his mouth stretching into a death's-head grin.
"Very well. I warned you: this is my limit."
He teleported all his friends away, further south. Thus, having reached his limit, he could no longer control the energies inside his body. They lashed out in every direction, and he was lifted off the ground, blue energies crackling and consuming his body, lighting arcing off him and destroying everything around. Wild psi-storms were let off, creating gaping craters and furrows miles long in the earth. In an attempt to save the innocent people, James tried to direct his energies skywards, but it didn't help much. All the same, an intense beam of light shot up, through the clouds and out of orbit. It slowly began to expand, then rapidly became a dome ten kilometers in diameter, following by an explosion. A huge shockwave rolled out in every direction, destroying everything it came in contact with.
At the eye of the explosion, James collapsed, breathing hard and unsteady. He looked around him: everything his mind had touched had been either destroyed, or charged with psionic energy. He faded in and out of consciousness for a while, then slowly picked himself up. "Ouch!" His voice echoed dully through the empty crater; he looked around, and felt himself completely alone. "At least those bastards won't be able to get me for a while. The remaining psionic discharge makes this place dangerous, especially for anyone to whom my minds harbors ill will." He tried to locate a good place to take a nap. Unable to find anywhere that looked suitable, he took off his shirt and lay down on that instead. "Hope the others are all right."

"Truth be told, he has flames of his own," Revenant muttered raggedly, knowing that Dracon was at least cautious enough for that much. The draconic being had shrunk a good deal, but remained formidable. However, that wasn't the concern for them at the moment. The psionic's collapse would become very dangerous, and they didn't want to deal with that. Revenant ordered a retreat, and all living APCARP soldiers began to flee the forest, taking a few last potshots before running. Revenant scooped up a rock, and threw it at James.
"We need a teleport now," Revenant said calmly to a man with communication equipment, and the warriors of APCARP vanished in a cloud of sparks right before the field of energy would have consumed them. -------- Stray rested her head in her hands. If the battle had lasted a little longer, she could have gotten that butterfly. She had been climbing a tree when the situation had changed, and she had been mere feet away from getting a clean lunge in... Now, they were off in the middle of Nowheresville, Mexico. She looked to the rest of the group. "What now?"

Dracon landed on the ground in human form. "That shouldn't have happened. Why do these people think they can just leave? I haven't even started!" Dracon shouted into the large forest fire at the edge of the border. "Those sons of bi*****!" Dracon screamed in fury. "I demand to speak with the commander -- president -- WHO EVER IS IN FREAKING CHARGE! They are going to get some serious a$$ wooping, if I see them again..." Dracon shaked his fist, and walked towards Summer.
"Revenant, let's go... we have to think this through."

Dave picked himself up; he had stumbled over after the teleportation. The group was now one short, but they had to keep moving. He glanced around: James had teleported them into a slightly crowded area, but at least there was transport.
"We have to keep moving. James will catch up ASAP. If the APCARP have got him, we'll think of something to get him back later," he explained. He motioned to a big blue van. "Get in."
Once everyone was aboard, Dave took off... fast. James had advised him to head to Japan, but first they needed money.
"Any idea on getting a ton of cash?" Dave asked. "We'll need it."

"We could always rob a bank. It's not like that would be a problem, considering how we handled APCARP. Just waltz in, invisible, take enough cash from the vault to tide us over for a few months and to set up some kind of hide out, and then zap back out. We have the means to do it," Stray said casually, thinking about the situation. "Where's the nearest bank, anyway? Can anybody here read Spanish?"

Soon Dracon, Summer, and Revenant all arrived back at headquarters. Dracon sighed. "They are definitely a nuisance, but I know what you are saying, Lee -- we are obviously pawns in some kind of plan for APCARP." Dracon slammed his fist onto the table. "Does anyone propose any ideas?"

Dave nodded in agreement: rob a bank. Easy. He drove silently for a few more miles, came across a road on the way, and turned onto it. A few hours later they arrived in a big town, which luckily had a bank. He motioned for everyone to stay where they were; he could easily do this alone. He manipulated the light again, making him invisible once again, and snuck through the bank, grabbing a key card out of the manager's pocket on the way to the safe.
In the safe, gold bars and wads of notes were stacked neatly everywhere. There were money bags for moving it all, so he grabbed a few and piled wads into the bags. He collected a few million, which should keep them going for a while at least. He snuck back, gave the manager back his key card and walked to the car. He tossed the bags in the back, got in and shut off his power. He started driving again, wondering if James had awoken, and whether he would meet up with them again.

James forced his eyes to open, and pushed himself up onto his knees. "Oh man, my head," he grunted, shielding his eyes from the morning sunlight. "I must've been asleep for a while." The crater around him still crackled with psionic energy. "Damn, that's dangerous. I hope no one walked into this crater. Well, at least I got something useful out of that battle," he muttered, expanding his mind and locating Dave.
<Hey dude, what's up? Hold on tight now,> he warned. Then he teleported onto the top of Dave's car, and teleported the car, himself, and everyone in it to Tokyo. "Ahhh, nice to see you again guys. Anyone got some aspirin? My head seriously hurts," he said by way of disgruntled greeting.

"I'm sorry, fella, but do you really think that we'll blend in around here?" Stray spoke loudly at James through the car roof. "We've gotta find somewhere better than this to hide." Though at first she was rather annoyed by the choice, she decided that it would be for the better once she saw the sprawling chaos of the city.
"Yo, Dave, can you mask our appearances? Make us look Japanese?" she suggested. This wasn't one of her plans, but after years of being locked away, she had many escape plans all filed away in her head. It had been her way of amusing herself in solitary confinement, plotting and waiting. She was no genius, but she sure was determined.

"Are you kidding Stray? A place like Toyko, plenty of people blend and live together from many nationalities. Crazy American kids hitch a ride over here all the time so they can draw anime! There could be no better place to hide than among thousands of people, in a place where the police force is taught to talk before shooting, and many of them don't even have guns!" James said. "As for masking appearances, Stray, I'm a telepath; these people won't even look at us unless I allow them to. Not that I enjoy invading people's minds," he said with some distaste. "You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that's in people's heads. You see that guy over there with the trenchcoat?" he asked, pointing. "He's masturbating right now. Gets a kick outta doing it in public."

"Gotta love it in Japan," Stray muttered, and her hairs rose slightly. She was tempted to go over and brush the back of the man's neck with her spines to knock him out cold, but decided against it. Somebody might analyze him and detect her poison. She sighed. Psychics and the like had it much easier. It would take a scan by another psionic to even hope to detect their more subtle works. She shouldered a bundle of provisions, and looked to the rest of the group.

{OOC- SInce I already have a character in the middle of all this, and I actually like my character, I'll just keep with him for APCARP... I'm not positive what's going on except for that everyone's in Japan... so...}
Airin felt himself sliding in and out of a mixture of sleep and unconciousness. For not believing he was anything more than a kid in New York, too much had happened. The rapid-fire learning process he had during their battle had seemed to awaken him to his powers, though he felt as if there was more he'd be able to do with practice. If he ever got time to practice.
For now a new, previously-latent part of him was feeling drained and exhausted, and he felt as though there were lead weights on his eyelids. He slowly formed water in the palm of his hand and rinsed his face of dust and cuts he had gained during the fight, all the while listening wearily to the conversation. Upon James' impressive appearance he felt relief. After all, Aero didn't like the fact he had been left in the first place. He scratched his hair, which was gaining silver to it for an odd reason, and scowled at James' blunt comment.

OOC: If Taryn ever returns, this shall be 'undone.'
BIC: A sniper-class Power for the local Power base in Japan made himself known just then. A piece of cloud fell from the sky, then quickly transformed into a spike of ice. It hit Airin in the chest, piercing his heart. "AIRIN!" James yelled, running over and putting up a force barrier. "What the hell?!" he yelled, searching with his mind. "Everyone stay close to me!" he said, before teleporting out.
They reappeared in the mountains, by a Shaolin monastery. Monks looked at them with vague looks of surprise on their faces. James teleported all of them away, and continued searching with his mind. He finally found the problem. Japan has a network of precog class powers, covering all the islands of Japan. Apparently not even foreign countries were safe. "Everyone get inside," he said slowly, walking in himself. He sat down in front of the temple shrine, and began to meditate.
A force screen about three miles in diameter appeared outside, slowly growing in strength. If one looked carefully, they could just barely see the cavernous rift that the barrier was cutting into the ground. James' brow furrowed as he focused, lifting. Lifting... <Hold on,> he whispered into the minds of the others. The whole plantation slowly began to rise above the ground, taking part of the mountain with them. It rose to the level of the peak of the mountain, and then above even that, to sit among the clouds. James rigged a dimming effect into the screen, to keep the greater part of the sunlight out, and then wrote an algorithm into his mind, allowing him to maintain the screen and their altitude without consious effort.
He stood up, and turned to look at his companions. "This will be our hideaway. With practice, Dave will even be able to cloak it from probing eyes. Ask me, and I can teleport you anywhere you need to go. Whisper 'salamm' and I will teleport you back. That is the password from now on," he said, heaving a deep sigh. "If you want to leave, say so now, as I intend to resist the government's Power programs to the best of my abilities. I don't consider myself one of those trapped people however. We are forces, free to do as we please, not powers to be trained and whipped like dogs."
