Benjamin brushed pieces of wood and other debris from his clothes before nodding to Artifex. He pulled his cane up under his arm and walked into the darkness. OOC: Sorry it's short but we really need this moving again. So, Lee? Al? Anyone?

OOC: I'll see what I can do tonight.

Jami smiled. "Yeah, let's go!" he said excitedly. He picked up a branch of wood, and held it in his hand. "This should work." He walked into the darkness with the old geezer.

OOC: *crickets* -_-
BIC: Artifex softly hummed a little tune to himself while walking into the dark opening at a leisurely pace. His enchanted eyes reactivated themselves in the dark, but, considering his companions, the mage pulled out a rune stone and stroked the symbols to create a bright white glow. The "walls" were gnarled roots twisting together in a neverending weave. There was only one path to follow, and it only spiraled downward.
"From what I have read, there should not be any defending creatures within this place," he said to no one in particular. "Forest creatures. So naive." He scoffed and continued down the single path.
The floor leveled out after a few minutes of walking, and the rune stone's glow was drowned out by the light emanating from an opening in the wall.
"This is it."
Artifex carefully approached the opening. He mumbled a spell and his eyes momentarily glowed purple. "I can see no living souls, save for the Tree itself."
With that, the Geninfor walked through the opening and was greeted by the ruins of a vast underground city, the crushed buildings seeming to have once been made of shining white stone, though now the rubble was covered with green moss. Amid the wreckage was a tall spire jutting upwards at a somewhat skewed angle. At the top of the tower was an orb of glowing green: the Tree's soul. Artifex knew the dangers of tampering with the soul, so he controlled his urge to capture it.
Artifex approached the tower and walked around it. He found a hole and stepped through it, carefully avoiding the broken stained glass that lined its perimeter. The inside seemed even brighter than the outside, as the Tree's soul was reflected by the golden walls, still surviving the long time it hadn't been disturbed.
The Geninfor muttered the spell again, and again his eyes glowed purple. He pushed a rock with his staff and bent down, taking hold of a piece of cloth that had long been buried. Pulling it back up, Artifex examined it. Despite being under stone for so many years, the cloak was still as white as fresh snow and the green and gold patterns were still perfectly woven in.
"Well, it seems that this is the last part of our journey. You may find your cloaks amid these ruins. I will stay if any of you would like some sort of enchantment on your new apparel as a sign of my gratitude."

"This is it? Not much of a neighborhood, is it?" Ods smiled slightly, and gathered his trenchcoat about him. "I don't think I'll be taking anything. I'm a lot of things, but I'm not much of a grave robber." His smile turned to a Cheshire grin. "Not enough profits in it." He tipped his hat down over his eyes, and turned to leave.

Riracu looked around solemnly, then walked forward through the ruin until she'd found what she required. She nodded quickly to Artifax, then each of the others in turn, before teleporting away.
