Speaking as an ex-Host, I can vouch for how much it sucks when one of your players suggests closing the game and starting anew.
Lee is a smart man. He will step in to fix what needs fixin'.

Your over exagerating it Thor. I agreed with you at first, when we where talking about it the other day, but now I beg to differ.
What your writing is true...assuming the swords are given and used in the exact order of Mafia kills, in 5 nights in a row, which is highly unlikely.
Also, the Rez's/marionttes could be bought by Mafia members, whom stayed and got the extra drachma, and curb them towards living longer. There is no rule saying Mafia cant use the store.
The innocents do outnumber the Mafia, but the Mafia always kills someone every night, where as the innocents can only kill 1 time a day, were they have a better chance of killing one of their own, thus dwindling their numbers even further.
I do agree the Mafia should have some type of meeting ground though. That would make the game much more stratigic.
The Mafia might be slightly gimped, but not enough to stop the game. The only person that I think has an unfair advantage is Babs. He shouldnt have been able to buy all those boxs in the begining. Now he is just a power house. But thats a different story.

That's still a disadvanage to the Mafia, who're supposed to be in an advantage to allow for a more difficult and fun game. The items in question are quite broken, and the amount of drachma being handed out is just outrageous and allows for the quick acquisition of these items... sure, the Mafia can purchase these as well, but what's the use? There's only 3 items that really work for them, that's the rezes, marionettes, and the healing potions.
You're also suggesting that the Innocents can't kill Mafia members, when the wooden sword and the veteran can kill Mafia members lickity-split when he's killed... 1 for 1 is a pretty good deal when you outnumber someone... also, you're not taking into account that the innocenst don't reveal their innocence to each other, or that some innocent classes didn't already know about the other innocents. Sure, they can dwindle their numbers, but there's certain point that they'll reach when they can no longer dwindle their numbers due to their character knowledge... yes, the Mafia can kill them, but they'll probably have dwindled them before that
Oh yeah, and Lee hasn't addresses these problems yet, even after I've PMed him TWICE every night listing things I thought should be changed, he never even acknoledged my points... I'll admit, it is a bit rude, but some things need to be changed
Sorry about all the whining, these points are just rather large and should be addresses

If Lee changed the game for every complaint that was made by a person, then the game would start one way and end up on the other side of the Earth. The thing you are forgetting Spiffy, is that a wooden sword can only be carried for 1 night, and if you are not killed in that night, then the sword goes away. But Mafia members can use all the other items except for the sword. Your justifications are assuming a lot of things, and only apply under certain cercomstances. Really the Mafia do have the advantage. Their killing potential is much higher than that of the innocents. The only thing, that I think, really needs to be changed, is the meeting place for the Mafia.
And he didnt hand out outrageous amounts of Drachma. If you looked, the avearge for last night was less than that of all the other games. Also, the point of staying last night, was to get a significant amount of money, but this comes at the expense of changing your job, which could, ultimatly, change the whole personal plan of the game.

Well, those assumptions and circumstances are happening right at this very moment, so I think that actually makes them rather warrented, don't you?

Spiff: SHUT. UP. Go to the store, and look at it. BTW, Mafia ALSO can use wooden swords. Not as useful, but it kills any thief that tries to steal from them and the vigilante.
Now Spiff, shove a sock in your mouth, and then look at the store. SAY IT WITH ME, DUM-DUM. IN-VEN-TOR-Y. There are SEVEN wooden swords. Meaning that there aren't even enough to cover all of the innocents for one night, most likely. And once the Marketeer croaks, there's no more. The innocents CAN defend themselves, but they'll burn it out soon enough.
Not to mention the disproportionate use Mafia can get from marionettes. They a guaranteed to survive another day that way, as opposed to innocents, who need it to shield them in day and in night.
There's seven wooden swords. If they piss you off so much, buy them all with your winnings, and then nobody else can get them anymore. Believe me, in your nightmare world where everybody gets Wooden Swords, they'd have burnt out the inventory by Day 2's end. And the Marionettes, likewise. There's 3. You've got 300+ Drachma. If they're such a pain, start sapping the inventory.
UPDATE: Actually, now that I've updated the store inventory, there's none of those afformentioned Marrionettes. Now, there's just those pesky swords to buy out.
Also, I assure you, I made sure things are internally balanced. Sure, the peek inside pandora's box can give you winnings, but it also can kill you outright. I spent three days balancing all roles and items and ensuring the items wouldn't be broken. The only way that item could screw the mafia is if they were dumb as a rock.
If you see a guy buying wooden swords, Mafia, then leave him alone and kill his buddies that don't have any. DUR. The only people who can get wooden swords without you knowing are the Craftsman, the Thief, and MAYBE some fellow that got a buddy to pass it off.
In fact, unveiling the mystery of the Box.:
Possible Outcomes: *Role Switch, All people, unwarned. *Randomly transfer posting requirements. *Switch 1 random living and dead member. *Give the user 0 to 777 drachma. Doubled chance. *Cancel ALL powers of the user until next switch of role. *Gives a player an additional daily power use./Renews one of a character's per game powers./80 Drachma. Doubled chance. *Freezes user like a chronomancer. *Adds stock to a random item in the store. *Kills the user outright, ignoring all powers and such in their inventory. *Makes the user invincible for 2 day/night periods.

No. Just cause the 1 person died doesnt meant to stop it, just stop and reconsider things spiff, I think youll find the situation to not be so dire.
Your doing a great job in my opinion Lee.

Certain people need to stop the whining for five minutes and remember that this is just a fucking game. Stop crying because it's not done the way you want, in the end nothing that goes on here even matters in the slightest. Atleast Lee is trying something new, would you prefer we just played it exactly the same everytime and 2/3's of the participents got bored shitless and stopped playing?
Remember: IT'S JUST A GAME.
