So as a random aside from the harsher game design aspects of making our own game, what cards would there be in an Exodus ORP themed cube? A cube is a collection of cards that's drafted like a set, and people build their decks out of randomly picked cards. A few that come to mind right away for Exodus flavor: WhiteAkroan Mastiff: Well, hello there, Micmac! Who's a good dog? Agent of Masks: Pohatu nailed this one; hair's just a little short, but a very solid 'brot, and the white and black cost is perfection. Guildpact Festival: Perfect for the Mage Festival in Shin-Ra. BlueResearch Assistant: Alpha, circa the beginning of Ishkabibble. Kaho, Minamo Historian: Yoon. She comes down, digs out a bunch of info for you, and then puts it to use when you pay her off. REDReckless Waif: Declared by Cendra herself to be a dead ringer for Telrien. It also turns into a werewolf, but we haven't gotten to that part of Bows yet. Young Pyromancer: Oh, come on, it's Hector. You should know this. Stoke The Flames: Pretty much a perfect depiction of Garth's powers, and very in flavor, since it exhausts some of your guys in order to cast the spell. Tormented Pariah: Yup, that's a Crookes. If only Crookes could turn into a werewolf, like Telrien does all the time... GREENDisciple of the Old Ways: A spot on Natalie, though she'd be just a LITTLE more aggressive (haste?) (I'm not sure if "Kaho, Minamo Historian", "Kiku, Night's Flower, or "Masako The Humorless" would be our best Yoon.) This is all I've got for now, but I'll be sure to continue updating the list whenever something strikes me.

I'm going to use post 1 for character specific stuff, and post 2 for less SPECIFIC, but still on theme cards. WhiteMurder Investigation: For getting our Obscured Truth on. BlueWay of the Thief: Hey, works for both Rhys and Vieve, and Way of the Thief is thematic as heck for Tel, Terrian, Sarosin, uh, pretty much half the Exodus? Compulsive Research: Esther and Blaise say hi. BlackGrisly Spectacle: Very Scar and Lucas, no? ColorlessThrowing Knife: Emily, Rie, and so on. If there's an RP, somebody's throwing knives in it.

Agent of Masks: Mandelbrot. Compulsive Research: Esther. Kaho matches Yoon's look best (minus the crazy hair).

Excellent calls, Photu! Also, I need to commission somebody to alter this into Almudena: Also, tragically close to Aquara, but not QUITE there: Needs blue-er hair.

Flint/Zagaroth's usual way of approaching problems. And the kingdom of the Gelhaim, including a trap!

Festival of the Guildpact: The Mage Festival of Shin-Ra.

I find it kinda hilarious that Festival of the Guildpact is an instant. The opponent thinks that lightning bolt is going to hit you in the face- and then at the last nanosecond a SPONTANEOUS PARTY pops up and takes the bolt for you. Ravnica is a wild, wild place.

Also, I think we need Moose's opinion on how close Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath is to being a servicable Silumas for this cube:

Had some really good finds today: Tormented Pariah IS Crookes, like pixel-perfect. And even better, I found a perfect Terrian (or at least, Alpha, judging by the name and scene) Heck, you can even toss him out and gain his info, just like the Brogues in our custom TCG!

Another Rie/Emily thing, though I could swear there's substantially more characters packing hidden knives. Aaand hello there, Winstone PD. Speaking of which, have an out of focus shirtless Williams going vigilante on ancient Greece.

Nixilis will work, summons demons, causes damage and gets happy about it....all the necessities.

Oh hey, we've got a Lacy! (Albeit a bit tan, but then again, I've been considering to committing to her being Jewish for a third layer of irony, so it might be canon?) I really really really WANT this to be a Blaise, but that outfit... It'd take some art fixing. But that effect is sooo Blaise. The moment she comes down, all sorts of random crap starts going anti-gravity! El, can you tell me how close Ainok Survivalist is to Ben's Beast form?

Seems relevant now that Hector's a treasure diver, after all.

Adakar Wastes: The landscape from Flint and Steel. Let's have some lands OUTSIDE Grixis colors, m'kay? Arcane Laboratory: Ya can't say no to the Parmigianino Institute. Ironically, the closest thing I've found to Flint so far is a white card that hoses Blue.

I dunno, I think Prime's slot is best represented with: and Has swords, azure energy, katanas, dragons.... Debating on if I should use Spawnbinder mage as Thyra... We're likely not going to see sunglasses or black characters with straightened hair any time soon in Magic, and the color, stats, and abilities all line up, and she's using a cord weapon with a holy glow, but the figure's off (needs less boobs) and the outfit's not quite right.

Masquerade! I kinda want to suggest this, for the most over-dramatic possible representation of Deandre's powers.

So, the next MTG set has a mechanic Investigate that lets you gather "clues" to draw cards. I'm feeling like we're going to get a buttload of cards for this project.

Illiana, maybe? Hair's a bit long, but the outfit works for a summoner, and it's a healer wielding a staff.

Here ya go Leebert This is about as close as Magic gets to Valon. Hair is a bit long, ears a bit to pointed, and the markings can go. Really gives off the aura magic feel.

Oh, I'd been leaning towards this guy for Valon: Outfit's a bit closer, and they have the whole "leader" thing down, but then again, they don't really have a mystic aura thing going. I'll keep my eyes peeled though- I feel I'm overlooking something even better than either of our picks.
