It was a typical arena for an indoor challenge match. Gray cement walls rose high, just to be matched by an equally bland ceiling. Tiles, in a similar dull gray color, lined the edges of the walls and the arena, surrounding four pairs of metal bleachers, one to each wall. The arena floor itself was made of dirt, with deep gouges and charred spots marring the white-painted borders.
Ackerly stood at the north end of the arena in. He wore a light gray shirt with tan cargo-pants, his dark blue over-coat and bag resting off to the side. His opponent stood ready at the south end. Oddly, his clothing worked well to show him as Ackerly's opponent. A dark red coat to counter his dark blue, black short-pants stopping at the knees, opposite of Ackerly's long, light colored ones. Even a yellow and black cap, as opposed to the lack of one on Ackerly.
A young man with wavy hair, that had clearly been dyed a light red, stepped forward in a black and white striped referee's uniform. "My name is Regal, and I'll be your referee for this match. The starting attack will be decided by coin toss. Ackerly, if you would like to call a side."
"No, thanks. My opponent can go first." He told the referee, throwing a red and white pokeball onto the ground. A brilliant white flash erupted from the ball. When it faded, a long brown pokemon stood on the floor, then it began bounding around energetically.
"Furret will be my first."
"Alright then." replied Regal, giving both Ackerly and Alexei an eager look. "The fifth match of the day, Ackerly versus Alexei, will begin. The first to knock out three of his opponent's pokemon will be the victor. Alexei, begin when ready."
