-------
Rules Carved in Stone: These rules are the most important, and most likely will never change.
Rule #1: Let others have fun.
Rule #2: Have fun.
Rule #3: No superplaying, please. I understand that winning is more fun than losing, but you can't be invincible. Try to keep things fair. (Superplaying definition for beginners: Having a character who is always ready for every situation and is incapable of loss.)
Rule #4: Start out humble. I'm okay with you starting with a party of six, or a handful of evolved Pokemon, but keep it tame. I'm giving you a lot of freedom with this. Please don't go overboard and force me to change it back to the old system.
Rule #5: Some Pokemon are legendary and/or exclusive from being captured. Please refer to the list before catching any of them.
-------
Legendary System: A new system for legendaries, and their capture.
Already Owned Legendaries: These legendaries may not be used by you or caught unless with the stated permission at the beginning of the topic from the owner of the legendary.
-Mew (Yoshimitsu, Elliot)
The Pokemon Council: This will be a group of members who will pass decisions on important matters. To join, simply send me a PM. It is recommended that you be fairly active during all times of year if you join the Pokemon Council.
Legendary System: When somebody wishes to capture or use in a plot an un-owned/non-reserved legendary, send a request via PM to me. Describe your intents with it, and the general plot it will be used in. I'll call aside three randomly chosen Pokemon Council members, and they'll vote on the matter. If any do not respond within two weeks, I'll randomly cast their vote. If the majority approves, then it is allowed.
The Pokemon Council reserves the right to remove one's rights to a legendary Pokemon for misbehavior or misuse of a legendary Pokemon, or simple horrible writing.
-------
NEW POKEMON!: Board policies towards next generation Pokemon.
Next Generation Pokemon: All next generation Pokemon are ran as if they can only use confirmed attacks. They may only be captured if they are confirmed non-Legendaries. (Common sense attacks are allowed as well, such as Tackle or Growl.)
They'll go by Japanese names if English names are not confirmed as of yet. After the English names come out, we'll just filter the Japanese names over.
Additionally, you should use Bulbapedia as your guide if possible on brand new species. I've found most other sites have issues hammering out a movelist until about three months after English release (thus my Burmy using Grass Knot, for example. That was a pretty embarassing faux pas on me.)
--------
Rules of Engagement: Rules for battles.
*Detailed bio. In your character's bio, specify the Hidden Power and Attribute of your Pokemon. These may not be changed.
*Moves Allowed: Pokemon are allowed to use any moves they can learn in any of the games without cheating. Illegal move combinations are allowed (Two moves that a Pokemon can get, but can't have at once.)
*Manuevers Allowed: You may use any attack in any logical manner. So, using a Hydro Pump to block Flamethrower is valid. Attacks don't need to strictly adhere to their game counterpart's effect.
*Don't dodge every attack thrown at you. More leeway is given to faster Pokemon or Pokemon fighting slower opponents.
