The next accepted item must be either one letter more or one letter less than the last accepted item.

Ninety wins.
And a Pyrrhic victory it surely is.
Full explanation to follow.

So, with the challenge finished a solid four days before time would have run out, let's take a look at our winnings! The amount of EP added to the pot for this challenge was... Six. 6 EP. Wait, hold on, that can't be -- No, that's right. No, yeah. Definitely right. 6 EP. Now what happened here? Well, there's a reason I didn't explain the EP payout of this game when we began. Let me lay that out now. The plan was that, until someone PMed me correctly guessing the pattern, every request someone made to which I answered "Yes" would earn the team 2 EP. (My own provisions at the start of every round wouldn't count, obviously.) That's not the fastest payout, but it would have added up pretty quickly over the course of five days, you know. But once again, there was a twist. As soon as one player PMed me with the correct guess, the EP payout would change. From that moment on, everyone else's accepted requests would earn 4 EP each, while that one player's requests would earn 0 EP each. I hope you can see the theory, there. The idea was that once someone out there had the correct pattern, all of a sudden the challenge would become twice as lucrative. Then it would become something of an endurance test for that player. At any point they could post the answer here in the thread, end the challenge, and earn the exemption, but my hope was to see how long they would be comfortable letting the challenge continue. If they played their cards right, they could steer other players close to figuring out the pattern without ever truly giving it away and risking that their exemption might be stolen by someone else. And the EP would have come pouring into your coffers. Well, that player was Ninety. And he wasn't interested. So, after I PMed him all this to explain the situation, his very next move was to reveal the answer and end the challenge. Right away. Seizing exactly none of the opportunity for enhanced profit the game now provided. No, Ninety wanted that exemption and he wanted it bad. 2 EP for Biscuit's recliner, 2 EP for Ninety's sectional, another 2 EP for his boombox, and that's all you guys get. (By the time he asked to bring a bikini, he'd already guessed the right pattern, so 0 EP for that.) Congratulations to Ninety on his exemption, earned like a true Mole. The rest of you, apparently, can suck it! Seems the players have been stepping up their sabotaging efforts in recent missions... Has the Mole shown their hand yet? Surely, the answer must be yes. But the only way to know for sure is to play on. Next challenge in a few days. If you felt left out of this challenge because of how abruptly it proceeded, don't worry: the next task has no conditions for ending early, and is meant to include everyone. It's pretty simple, too. I mean, I said that about the beach trip too, but that game is dense in theory and simple in execution... The next challenge really is just quite simple. So is the challenge after that. This whole episode is an absolute breeze! If you don't reel in a bigger EP haul by the time of the next quiz I am going to be thoroughly disappointed. But hey, on that note, congratulations players: you've hit triple digits. Too bad you could have been halfway to the next hundred by Wednesday. THE TEAM POT: 100 EP THE MOLE'S POCKET: 86 EP

Well, the phone lines are down and the messenger got stuck in traffic, but after some frantic exchanges of smoke signals and Morse code, I can definitively say the following about the next challenge: - The name of the next challenge is "The Ball and Chain".
- The next challenge begins today and runs for, oh let's say four days.
- The payout for the next challenge is up to 50 EP, but could just as easily run into the red.
- The challenge is the simplest thing ever. You win by posting things here, in this thread. Easy!
- PMs explaining in more detail are soon to follow this post.
- Here is a shitty gif which provides a dramatization of the next challenge:
