Treetops and Iridescence, Tan. XD Hurr. Let's see if I can remember the lands.
Bustin: Land of Snow and Twilight (LOSAT)
Kitten: Land of Treetops and Iridescence (LOTAI)
Colin: Land of Synthesis and Equilibrium (LOSAE)
Shiro: Land of Time and Thunder (LOTAT)
Reba: I forget, but I remember Motes being in it somewhere, and that it had to change a bit or we'd have two LOMAMs.
Yulia: Still doesn't have one of those.
Flynn: Land of Mist and Marshes (LOMAM)
Bice: Land of Columns and Phantasms (LOCAP)
Royce: Land of Fog and Towers (LOFAT)
Mose: Land of Tides and Shores (LOTAS)
Tweak: Land of ? and Frogs (LO?AF) <Space player, It's kind of obligatory>
Mark: Still doesn't have one of those, either.

worr I should get on the computer some more maybe
I was actually recently discussing Bice's title with Testbug, and we decided that Judge of Life is infinitely cooler than Contessa and just sounds better anyway Her planet is still Land of Columns and Phantasms (or Pillars and Phantasms maybe because alliteration is cool) and if you squint and kind of tilt your head at the update with her computer screen, you can see her browser/denizen is Thanatos o:

I read that last sentence wrong and got the impression there was a new Bice update.
Maybe there should be one, anyway? Hard to say!

I think Columns and Phantasms sounds better. More mystical. Less forced. Besides, Pillars and Phantasms would end up being LOPAP.
pap.
Shoosh.
And re the use of Judge as a title, my only thought was:
You attempt to BE THE LAW and fail miserably. You cannot BE THE LAW. Only one has ever succeeded in BEING THE LAW - in a far-away session - and by ascending to the God Tier as The Judge of Dread, he has ensured his dominion over the realm of LAW forever. Or at least, until he dies. You project that his death will be JUST, but the question remains JUST WHAT.
Also seems that the Denizens are another broken feature of our session, what with it heavily implied that denizens correspond to elements (or at the very least Cetus to Light and Echidna to Space)

Don't worry about my land. It's indeed the Land of Motes and Molt, and yet somehow, I can promise you that it will not be an issue. Pohatu might kinda understand, but I'd rather let that twist stand on its own than delve into it here.
Also, I'm totally fine with the custom aspects. Hussie basically said there was 32 aspects that didn't make it into the troll session, so we've got more than enough space for them.
I think part of the deal with our session is indeed that it's a broken one. No Paradox Clones, no 50/50 gender split, odd denizen matchups, possible missing aspects, and most importantly, the presence of Occlum. This isn't a session that is fertile, but won't bear fruit... It's a session that could possibly bear fruit, but seems to have something else as its primary purpose.
edit: Also, I'm really liking the title "Sage" of something for Mose.

Oddly enough, Lee - the presence of Occlum is part of the reason that the session is unnatural, and yet, it facilitated the change without exactly causing it. Or perhaps it didn't?
There are many irons in the fire, my friend. Many. XD

Would Witch of Hope/Witch of (something) work? I'm having trouble coming up with a denizen, mostly because a lot of Slavic mythology creatures/spirits aren't really denizen-worthy (lots of old ladies? ) so the best I can think of right now is Alkonost.

Post by Tout-Perd on Jan 13, 2012 10:59:32 GMT -5
The Alkonost would be a perfect denizen, IMO. The eggs/storm thing means it even comes prepackaged with some sort of "Denizen Being a Dick" thing that seems to be pretty standard.
I get a feeling we're going to trend really aquatic/foggy this session. I dunno, feels like almost everybody has forests, bodies of water, or mist as major features in their land. Granted, I'm vaguely in the same boat, considering we're one player away from having sandy areas as a major feature, too. I kinda like it, though. Gives us a pretty cohesive feel to our planets, which makes up for the fact that our characters have a lot less in common then the Homestuck players.

Yeah, I have this really bad urge to have a desert setting for my land. Land of (something) and Steppes? yeah. yeah steppes sound good.

Why does that make me picture her consorts falling into a stereotypical Russian Dancing Men structure, regardless of what species of reptilloids/amphibians they'll be? Oh yes. Speaking of which. What are our Consorts? I know what Colin's are. Tuataras. Shiro seems to have these... Iron Children, or whatever the hell they are. Unless that's not the consorts. Who knows with this otaku anyway!

Stel, those are utterly adorable. Such an awesome idea. <3
Btw, I have no fuggin clue about the whole denizen/consort thing. Any kind of assistance with this would be nice...

If your character is a troll and not necessarily even a confirmed one either, then... well, yeah. It's likely that we'll be sort of going into the troll arc as they're already midway through their session or so - so not much to really worry yourself about for now! XD
The troll session is more conventional, though, so you're likely to get Hemera as a denizen and.. whatever the hell Jane and presumably Feferi had.

I think that's a gnome
ALSO UH
So consorts have to be slimy reptilephibian things? i wasn't sure on that.

|
|
Post by Beelzebibble on Jan 13, 2012 18:54:56 GMT -5
That seems to be canon in Homestuck, but emphatically not in Househeld, unless the Iron Children populating Shiro's planet are all reptilephibians underneath their helmets.
There are twelve of us. I say we should feel free to branch out, in the same way we should be allowed prototypings that don't include dead/dying/doomed things. Let the creativity flow. I only picked chameleons for LoMaM because the chameleon is of a certain personal significance to me (we own one).

Hm. I suppose! in that case, is there a name scheme for consorts, or are they named after random babbles?
(I am so not knowledgable)

What?
You mean, how are individual consorts named?
We don't know. The only named consort, Casey, was given a name by John. But it seems pretty ridiculous to imagine that the hero is supposed to name all the consorts on his planet. Maybe the consorts just don't have names of their own accord. They're pretty silly creatures for the most part.

Nonononono I mean like Stel's consort species are Tuaturas
Are those actual creatures or like the name for the species is what I meant
|
|
|
Post by Beelzebibble on Jan 13, 2012 21:13:50 GMT -5
Uh... now I'm confused.
Yeah, tuataras are actual creatures. Stel has adapted them for use as consorts in the same way that Hussie adapted salamanders, turtles, crocodiles and iguanas. In-game, Colin's consorts will be called "tuataras", just as those consorts are called "salamanders" etc. I'm doing the same with chameleons. Testbug is taking a different route and making up his own consorts, "iron children". I don't know what else to tell you...

I've implied pretty heavily Reba's getting serpents, but I'd like to narrow that down and mention that it's cobras. Just to put that out there. Things that'd probably make cool consorts, that nobody has taken yet: Monitor Lizards Basilisk Lizards/Jesus LizardsFrilled Lizards Geckos Toads (Would be questionable, but cool. I could see a planet of toad consorts for a player on the frog quest) This freakin' thing (Diplocaulus) Axolotls (IMO, the best consort for Kara's troll) Skinks (AKA the reptile Gene Simmons) Horny ToadsBearded DragonsAlligator Snapping Turtles (Also known as the "Screw it, I want a dinosaur!" option) Would we allow dinosaurs? Doesn't sound like it'd break the mold too much, especially if Shiro's got Iron Children as his. If so, dinosaurs blow wide open the options for awesome consorts. EDIT: Which means when Reba captchalogues a consort, it'll probably go in her strife deck, which should be interesting. (Also, THIS THING HERE looks like what happens when you cross Hearts Boxcars and a frog HE IS NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS.)

So far, the only taken consorts are: Tuarataras Chameleons Cobras Iron Children *thumbs nose at Testbug* (personally, I think that Yulia's consorts should constantly do the dance move from 1:48 in the Moskau video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQAKRw6mToA) While we're at it, she's gotta alchemize at least a few of those outfits during the game.)
