I really need to finish the second part of that episode now that finals are over.
(I do SC2 replay analysis for internet acquaintances. We are not high level and neither is my commentary!)

Don't forget the C-bombs!

I don't remember what a c-bomb is.
I just remember b spamming clicks to raise APM while building a gigantic army for lulz.

C-bombs start with the letter C and rhyme with runt.

I'm still playing, I'd like to set up a regular Exodus playtime if you guys are down?
Also anyone have a race recommendation? I generally end up playing Random, I'm probably good enough to be mid to high silver league, but I can never make up my mind on my main race, so I suffer from not knowing my units very well.

I've still not played it and really really really need to get it. I loved SC so much, I really don't know why I've not picked up SC2 yet.

So should I play Zerg, Terran, or Protoss? I don't have any particular preference so I'm having trouble deciding.

It's all preference, mang. I play zerg because it suits my style of just trying to have better macro than the other guy.

Terrans are probably the most well rounded race, Zerg are best in large numbers and Protoss have alot of heavy hitters, I honestly prefer the Zerg myself.

Terran has some mobility issues in the late game though. Tank/viking pushes are effective but slow. Banshees are great harassment units through most of the game but don't tie into armies that well. Hellions are great early game before the more powerful units get out. After that, you're usually better off spending your money elsewhere.
Zerg: Mobile, cheap, relatively weak. Protoss: Expensive powerful units. Warp gates allow for higher mobility than you might think. Terran: Middle ground between the two.

First of all, the word you're looking for is consensus. Second, blood's the only one who actually suggested zerg. Shadow and I were just saying that we play zerg. I say you try them all and play with whoever you're most comfortable.

No thats the thing, I can play all the races pretty well. The most I can say in 'preference' to any, is that I find zerg slightly awkward. That feeling would go away if I just scouted more though.

Zerg has a tough time scouting, yeah. Early game you're either sacrificing a drone or a ling since overlords are too slow to scout effectively. Where other races can make workers and army from the same place, zerg makes everything from the same building and has to wait for larvae to spawn. That means in the early game you either focus on your economy by droning up or you sacrifice that economy lead for a stronger initial army. Trying to do both usually leads to having a weaker army than the other guy while at the same time having a weaker economy.
This turns into great flexibility later on though since zerg only has to build a tech building to start making those units from any hatchery. So while T needs to make a lot of facs to pump siege tanks quickly or P gets a lot of gates for lots/stalkers, Z can just make the building and have access to as many units as he has larvae. That means Z can be very responsive to threats in ways that the other races can't. Also, I said overlords were to slow to scout effectively but that only applies in the early game. As it goes on and you're making more and more to keep up with your food count, they become incredibly useful tools. Place them everywhere across the map to give you wide vision and have them generate creep. Generating creep is one of the biggest things zerg can do to really get a leg up on the competition. P and T can't build on creep and zerg ground units get a boost to their speed while on creep. Have queens lay creep tumors whenever you can afford them not puking larvae and just pop out tumors whenever you can. Creep tumors are hidden so the enemy needs a detector to kill them. They also give vision so creep can be an effective scouting tool as well. If you have creep all over the map you can always have early warning for any advancing armies. Zerglings with speed upgrade on creep are the fastest units in the game and are incredible at hit and run harassment. Speedling/muta is a great combo for that.
Those are some of the reasons I like zerg. I need that flexibility.

My memory is Starcraft 1 is too fresh, Zerglings always strike me as useless, even in situations where they are most certainly not. That said, all hail the might of the insane 6 pool.

I guess you never got the concept of a Zergling rush?
Doesn't really matter, given what SCII is anyways *sigh*

No no, I get it man. Thats why I added my all hail the 6 pool comment. I hate getting six pooled, and everyone freaking 6 pools. *sigh*
My standard opener for protoss is pylon, forge, cannon, cannon, gateway, cybernetics core, nexus, gateway gateway gateway, warpgate, warpgate, warpgate, warpgate

I always choose random. I can play all the races about equal skill levels, so if I play random I get two benefits instead of one. When I win as random I not only make progress on whatever race I just won with but for random as well.
