So, anyways, I was considering "If people on the Exodus were supervillains, who would they be?"
Which got me thinking about Ultrahumanite in the DCAU as my Pohatu. (He commits crimes... for the arts!)
Naturally, this lead to thinking on what clip best to show this with, and I started mulling over the Christmas episode of the Justice League series. And I said to myself, "Hey, you handsome devil you, that episode had a really interesting structure to it."
Seeing as how the bread and butter of the Exodus' RPing is unconventional story telling and exploiting the medium of RP to create narrative opportunities (One's the bread, the other's the butter), I thought I'd propose an idea inspired by this:
An RP with three to four plot threads, all going on in the same topic. Each thread would have only a pair of RPers tending to it, to avoid confusion.
Now, here's the mindblowing part: No interconnectivity, at least from an in-universe perspective. This handful of plots all occur without actually tieing into eachother, ever. Instead, they all fit within some kind of predominant theme that the overall topic is focused on. The only tie between the plots would be the mutually shared themes.
Ideally, all the plots would also follow along the same general emotional arc, with echoes of eachother's moods. This, if done right, could really intensify whatever emotion we wanted to express to the reader.
And if we fully wanted to exploit this idea, each plot would end at a different point overall, allowing for each plot to have its own climax, and indeed, each one to end on a different note. One might end with the villains seemingly winning, leaving it on a note of despair. Another might end with the heroes triumphant, while the third shows the protagonists realizing the magnitude of the task ahead of them, and setting out into a grander journey as the topic draws to a close.
The one big flaw with this idea: It'd require lots of people that are REALLY good at picking up on cues, like Clicker, Blood, El, and Cendra. I'm not the type that likes doing a PM network before each post. I want this plot to be fairly spontaneous.
The other flaw: Scheduling: This year is pretty heavily booked, RP-wise. Ishkabibble eats up the first half, and Nat's featured RP eats up the other half. Bring in BB and El's epic plots that wrap up a lot of their plotlines, and we're talking VERY little activity available for this idea any time soon. But when we do get around for having the time for this, would anybody be interested?
