No, they can not climb up stairs... and its not a matter of intellegnce. Zombies have no intellegence, they simply have the most basic of instinks, and that is to feed, however they have to. They dont really "hunt", but if they sense you, then they go after you. You see, zombies are not dexterous enough to climb stairs. Their feet would get caught on the incline. I guess they might be able to eventually crawl up the stairs... but it would take a very long time. EDIT: See how likely you are to survive. www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=3126980011592714898

In Randolph, I've seen four year old girls target shooting with assault rifles. If we ain't dead, and we're capable of walking, we're capable capping your ass. Redneck law.
And yeah, stair blocking would be essential. Ladders and trees are impossible for zombies to get up/into. (We've got a few apple trees, which, depending on the season, may make for a good fortress to throw crud at zombies from.
OOH! IDEA! Simply smash out the first three steps of the stairway. People can still climb it, but zombies have zero dexterity.

BTW, that's a fairly dumb test. It asks various setting-specific questions, and assumes that anybody that DOESN'T assume ZOMBIES every time something bites somebody is dead meat. I think I may go and make a better quiz for zombie survivalation.

I got a 58. Apparently I'll be running around and eating rats, but I'll survive. That's cool.
Also Lee when you make the quiz do it on Quizilla or somewhere where you don't have to give them your whole damn life story just to get your results.

Well, that's what my zombie guide told me, as well as World War Z so... Im going to believe they cant go up stairs... at least easily.
Also, Lee, I agree that wasnt a very good test, but most of the other ones I looked at/took were overly complicated, and asked even worse questions... I figured thta one was good enough. It asked good questions after that one page.

Yeah, I too believe they're stairtards. Heh... Knock out one of the upper steps, and put a bunch of spikes in the hole they'd fall into. That'd be fun.
Granted, if you've got zombies going up your stairs, you're probably screwed, barring a "DETONATE THE MUNITIONS!" and then a Vin-Diesel out the window.

Best place to make an impromptu fortress would be a hardware store.
So many makeshift weapons and stuff.

what about a gun and medieval weapon shop?
so many real weapons and stuff.

Hardware store has more versatility. Unless you think you can barricade a door by stacking pistols in front of it.

no, but you can barricade a door by putting polearms through the handles.
Better yet, though, is a hardware store with a wing full of small firearms, assault rifles, and medieval weaponry. That's so much overkill it wouldn't even make a good movie.

Who's the obligatory black guy who gets killed first? And, no, I will not be the obligatory funny guy who gets killed off early to make the protagonists have something to fight for, thank you very much.

Guys I would hang up Flypaper and hope the Zombies get stuck to it. And I would hire my friend Kea (who is a ninja) and Brian (whos an engineer...well in four more years) to build somethig and dart around mysteriously for cool effects, and then I would spray the Zombies with pepper spray, then force them to attend my old high school where they will be dumbed right down so we can take em out using our vehicles!! YARRRR I'd hire my buddy Colton to roll over on them, cuz he's a pretty BIG person.

Yes, Bulbs, but how do you believe this subject has developed in light of ZOMBIE events?

You guys should read the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. *nodnod*

I own the Zombie Survival Guide. It's sitting on the bookshelf right next to my computer.
As long as I reap some of the benefits of this "favoritism", however, I'll support you for leader. I figure I'm entitled since you, you know, quoted me in your signature and all.

Loverly..... Hm... Never read either of them. I can't even say I've heard of either of them.
But I'm pretty sure that surviving it could be easy, depending on the kinds of zombies.
I know someone that used to have dreams quite often of super zombies, that were a million times faster and stronger (and even smarter!!!!!) than the standard human. So...> Yeah, we'd be sunk.
My plan would be to gather as many people and weapons together as I could and start traveling. Any vehicles that could be used for transportation would be used, and people and cargo would be moved around like that for as long as we could, or until we found a good place that we could defend. I'm thinking either a mountain environment, or one in the far north if it has to be natural. but then again if I could get to a tropical region, maybe there too..... (Or any other place that could and would destroy hoards of people that were rotting away quickly....)
If this wasn't somn I could do, then I'd probably take the survivors into a store, if there was a lot, then I'd go to a hardware store, and then send out a group or two for food at the local stores that would have it. If it was a small, then I'd stay at somn like a Super Walmart, or some other store that would have a LOT of food, nd bring what I could with me. MAYBE make a run or two on a hardware store.....
The reasoning.
Hardware store, more stuff to use to defend people with, as well as erect defenses (didn't someone else say that too?) and I could send out more people for the large amounts of food we'd need, as well as an escort.
If there was a small amount though, then we'd all want to stick together, so we'd stay closer to food and water, we wouldn't need as much stuff to stay safe, so we'd probably not need all the stuff in a hardware store, although it could help, but the highly useful stuff might need more people to haul it around, so we'd need about the entire group to carry it, and only a few people could guard us. Maybe even the entire group, so who would watch the base for us?
Anyway.....
Feel free to tear this whole thing apart and tell me how and why it sucks.
(GASP!!!! If Duliba saw that she'd give me detention! I typed S-U-C-K-S!)

I figure I'm entitled since you, you know, quoted me in your signature and all. Which benefits would you like to reap? Good. Since we're qualified, we can usher in a new, zombie-less utopia, enforced by camels. And penguins. Penguins riding camels. Noble penguin knights upon mighty camel steeds. Camel cavalry. We're brilliant.I forgot I'd opened this Sierra Mist... <3

The English language is already adapting itself to prepare for the event of a zombie outbreak.
