OOC - God damnit, I'm really losing my grasp on this RP. There are too many characters to keep track of.
In response to the uncertain young girl, Charles Tanner said, "Your friend with the machete had the right idea gathering vines, but I don't imagine there are enough of them to meet our needs. If this were a rainforest rather than a woodland, I should think we would have more luck, but..."
He allowed himself to trail off, having feigned a glimpse of something. He left the two girls behind and hurried into the thick of the forest, just far enough for the branches to conceal his actions. Then he bent over.
He made a tiny tracing motion with his finger, and a pale blue spiral appeared amid the undergrowth.
The spiral quickly took dimension. It was becoming a coil of rope. Tanner visualized the fibers, somewhat beaten and weathered from exposure to the elements, but still firm enough to hold together. To better explain how he had noticed the rope, he changed his mental image from plain beige to yellow, and the rope's color changed to match. In another instant it was as solid and real as the leaves and twigs around it.
He picked the rope up and emerged into the open. "I thought I'd seen something unusual!" he proclaimed cheerily. "How interesting -- it must have been left here for us. Out on the ground for a day or two, by the look of it."
Tanner passed the conjured rope to the professor, who wouldn't accept it until he had registered his disbelief: "Who would just leave this lying around?"
Tanner improvised eloquently. "It seems the Lord of the Lamp is willing to furnish aid to those careful enough to consider all aspects of the situation. Of course, one surely wouldn't have noticed the rope if it weren't such a fetching shade of yellow."

OOC: I have a sheet done up with character names, attributes, inventory. I think it's not on my flash drive, but I can throw one together in ten minutes if you guys need one. Off the top of my head: -Joseph: Shotgun, grenades, stuff. Grumpy, no powers. -Tsubota: No weapons. Martial arts (weak, I think), summoner white magic (the only thing he's shown the group.) Assumed the role of leader. -Emily: Lots of throwing needles/spikes. Happy girl, most friendly person here. Probably the coolest of everybody's characters. -Gideon: No weapons, very strong (superhuman). Kinda standoffish, though nice enough when spoken too. Still spattered with icecream, I think. -Prime: Gun. Some martial arts and minor survival training. Dislikes Tsubota's nervous attempt at authority. Possibly sees himself in a leadership role. -Sebastian: No idea on powers or not. IIRC, not armed. Not adjusted to the situation quite, but keeping a level head. -Alyssa: An unknown quantity, powerswise. Had a knife, now holding the rope for their line. Seems somewhat despondent but coming to. -Tanner: Conjurer, though like Tsubota, shows no evidence of such. Very cautious about his group, hoping to use them as stepping stones to ease his journey to the end, and trying not to let them have a shot at him when he's off guard.
NPCs anybody can use: -Elk: Big man, business suit. Has one of Joseph's cheap handguns, and some training in survival, though not raftmaking. Dislikes Joseph, generally amiable towards the rest of the group. -Bethany Brewer: Frail old lady. Very frightened and out of her comfort zone by about say, Canada. -Meera: Mother to the two children. Has a knife. Generally friendly and one of maybe five people Joseph respects (Emily, Gideon, Prime are the other three, and Tuica is at least somewhere on the list of Joseph's.) -Carol: Meera's daughter. Young child, day care age. -Billy: Meera's son. Kindergarden age. -Rit: Young man, has a gun. Is following Joseph around like a kid following an older brother, and keeping track of Xue. -Xue: Chinese girl, can't speak English. Mostly counts on Rit for guidance. -Mervin: Older guy, ex-police. Has a gun and can shoot. Dislikes the rougher guys, but isn't confrontational. -Toback: Old guy, can't shoot. Useless guy Lee just threw in for body count, I'm betting. -Tuica: On scooter, with crippled legs. Determined to be helpful, despite her situation. Takes care of the kids, and is holding onto a grenade. Hopefully not at the same time as the kids.
There. That's it. I'll post later.

OOC - Prime could make a good leader, I think. But he doesn't think of himself like that, he's more of a loner, and has a general dislike for authority. He does tend to be protective of shyer people as well, and has a healthy (violent) dislike of people who take advantage of others. Also he does actually know how to aim (BB Gun lessons, lol), but the gauge of the pistol is probably gonna be off putting for the first few shots.
Now post in here Lee!

"Hi" Emily said happily to the girl standing by her. Emily felt one of the odd trees. "Huh" she mused to herself even though Alyssa was standing next to her. "This is so creepy." She said this time to Alyssa "the tree has no branches and its green the whole way up. It¡¦s like one giant tree trunk" She shrugged having seen much stranger things she had learned to just ignore anything that might qualify as unusual. She wasn't worried about getting lost, people could see her hot pink knee knockers and electric blue tank top from a mile away. She also was still carrying her purse, which was rather heavy. "Okay we could try to saw threw it with our knives" She suggested. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry how rude of me" Emily exclaimed. "My name is Emily what's yours?" Emily's brown ponytail had grown decently long it was now past her braw strap, and it had a tendency to bounce as she talked or walked. OOC: I just realized I don't think I described my character in the beginning so that's why my description of her is in there, ya know better late than never.

OOC: I'll probably get to this before I go today. I've just been playing with a nice "new" thing, that's why I haven't been posting all that much.
Alyssa watched as Tanner had come back with a rope. She jumped slightly when Emily greeted her in a surprisingly friendly manner.
"Um... Hi... I'm Alyssa."
She then turned to the tree that she was talking about.
"I could be wrong... But I don't think it's a tree..... It looks more like a giant flower stem but, like you said, doesn't have branches....."
She then walked up to it, and put her hand against it. "I think we could.... It feels solid, but I think if we could get past this outer layer we could cut through it quickly enough..... Should we tell Mr. Tanner? Maybe they could use it for the raft, or for something else...."

"Yeah, I think we should tell Mr. Tanner" Emily said cheerfully. "Though I doubt we could actually make a raft out of this material. Mr. Tanner!" Emily yelled to him. "Come'ere we want to ask you if we should try to cut this wood down and use it!" "Ya'know we probably should be looking for vines or something more like rope. Maybe roots" Emily thought aloud to herself then changed her mind, "roots couldn't work." Smiling she turned to Alyssa "I have is a roll of dental floss in my purse, I'll offer it but it'll probably not be of use."

OOC - Worry not about more rope, Clicker, I had Tanner conjure the coil specifically so we could lay the issue of rope to rest. There's enough of it to work with.
I'd respond IC, but I think it'd be best just to let Lee power this through the raft-building process and get us across the river, because we're stagnating like crazy over the issue of raft materials. We're too big a group to be efficient problem-solvers and it's showing. A lot.

OOC: I was hoping that people would be willing to use NPCs to do a bit of character-building, and do some interacting beyond "Let's make a boat!"
You know, something along the lines of griping about the situation sucking, or wanting to get home, or wanting to throttle LotL with his own cape, etc.
NPCs are NPCs for a reason. Anybody can use them as a character when they need a foil, or a set of hands, or such. No need to be so conservative!
Nonetheless, I'll be posting here sometime this week and getting us on the road. We'll chalk this first pitstop up to a misunderstanding of the purpose of the event.

Prime finished the last tie of the raft with little fanfare, looking around him for the others as he finished up. He heard a loud crack behind him, as a branch broke, and spun around.
A man from another group moved towards him purposefully, carrying an ax.
"Oh hell," Prime said, scrambling to the other side of the boat and pulling his hidden gun out. It didn't help him.
The man threw the ax with vicious strength, and it hurtled through the air, whistling with venom its siren call of death.
It impacted right next to Primes colar bone, shattering it, and half severing his arm. He lifted the gun with his undamaged arm, shooting the man in the chest.
The older man blinked, surprised, as blood ran down his chest. Then shock set in, and he forgot the pain. Coming again for Prime, who pulled the trigger twice more.
He finally collapsed, his lungs deflating. His eye's were watery with tears. "I was never suppost to be here." He rattled, looking and Prime with sorrowful eye's, and then the light went out of him, and he vanished into the Abyss.
Prime stared at the body sadly, for the moment to deep in shock to feel the pain in his arm. But it brought him around eventually, as the severed bone jaggedly inserted itself into his muscle. He groaned audibly, and slowly set about making himself a splint, mopping up the blood and trying to pinch the veins to prevent any more blood loss.
He contemplated taking the ax out of his shoulder, but didn't think that'd help his situation much, losing even more blood. But it didn't help him, thinking the ax might be dirty, contaminated with some foreign jungle disease.

OOC: And so, we continue!
BIC: A loud booming sound caused Alyssa to jump. She didn't know what that sound was, but she knew what it ment.
Something is wrong. Someone is hurt! Maybe..... even..
She bolted towards the noise, shaking her head and causing a mass of dark brown hair to whip into her face.
Soon she reached a small clearing, with a few people already there, forming two groups of people, one group standing together, mixed with sarrow, show, and a few who's expressions weren't readable, but gave her an inexplicably bad feeling.
As Alyssa moved in closer to the first group, she caught a few words.
"Bet that bastard barely even knew what hit him! Two down! Less sh*t to compete with!" The speaker then began to laugh.
"Damn Garth, nothing ever phases you does it?"
Alyssa began moving away. She couldn't stop herself.
No! This is wrong! What-? W-why?!
She kept backing away towards the other group, only knowing that staying so close to people that were so angry would not, could not, end well. She began to turn towards the other group, and looked up in preparation for it.
That's when her eyes met with someone elses. The features of his face burned into her memory. His face was bore a dark, hostile expression, and was heavily scarred. His chin was missing a small chunk, and his eyes, a dull blue, were filled with a rage that was directed at everyone else around him.
Her mind screamed at her as she began walking towards the group huddled low to the ground.
That has to be Garth!
Before she could see who they were huddled around, another man turned and grabbed her wrist, causing her to scream.
The man covered her mouth, stopping the scream a moment after it started.
"Hey! Hey, cool it! I ain't gonna hurt ya!" He held on firmly, but uncovered her mouth.
"I know you" he continued. "You're friends with this dude. He'shurt real bad. Run back and get someone, anyone that knows stuff about fixing people up. We're trying to slow dwn the bleeding, but it ain't working well. Go! Run now!"
Alyssa wanted to look, to prove that it wasn't him, but she couldn't. That same fear prevented her from looking, and that same fear caused her to run straight back to where she had left Emily, and Mr. Tanner.

Alyssa came dashing back through the woods. Emily stopped her for a moment “What’s going on I swear I heard gunshots?” Alyssa was to shaken to talk so Emily went on her own to investigate. There was a group of people huddled around Prime. She snorted she should’ve expected something like that from HIS type. Always acting big and tuff, probably misfired the gun into himself she thought. Then she noticed the large axe protruding from his shoulder and let a small yelp. It was quite nasty to look at, even though Emily was not the squeamish kind. She wandered through the crowd till she was near him then gave him some pills. “They’re painkiller” she said reassuring him. “Okay people we need to keep him from going into shock, we need a blanket to wrap him in!”
OOC: Prime I can only imagine in my deepest nightmares what goes on in that little head of yours. (you can take as a compliment or an insult) but really what the hell were you thinking…. *sighs and shakes head* why did a random guy just try to kill Prime?

OOC: Well, it is a contest to the death, according to the popular theories. I think he may have been trying to get Prime's gun, personally. Gun>Axe, very often.
BIC: Tsubota and Joseph had been towards the fringe of their group, watching the woods for trouble, when the screaming and panic began. They both started to move, but Joseph stopped.
"I'll stay here. Can't leave our flank open if there is trouble," He growled, lowering his sunglasses to show his serious gaze.
"Uh- Gotcha," Tsubota stammered, and then turned, running down the muddy slope as fast as he could muster. He grabbed at the trunk of one of the bizarre trees, swinging around it, and releasing. A crowd had formed around where the raft was being assembled, many of them not his own people. Not good at all. He tried to pick up the pace, failing, and tumbling down the hill for a few rotations before planting his foot and skidding to a stop. Rising jitteringly to a stand, he sprinted into the crowd.
"Out of the way! I'm a mage!" Tsubota shoved through the crowd, and threw himself to his knees by Prime. The wound was horrible, more ghastly than he had expected, but at least he was still alive.
"What happened?"
"Some other guy got him with the axe," Alfred gestured toward a figure on the ground and then looked away, frowning, "If this fellow had not been here, I'm sure that I would have been killed."
"Anybody who isn't with me, back off!" Tsubota shouted. The group of people started drifting away. Tsubota scooped up the gun from where Prime had secreted it, and fired two rounds into the air.
"I said back OFF!" Immediately, the other group began to disperse. Tsubota thought he spotted a few stragglers, but that wasn't of consequence. If anybody else attacked, Emily would handle them. He was the only one that could take care of Prime.
He leaned in closer, examining the blade of the weapon. The parts that weren't covered in blood were smeared with dirt and grime. Tsubota gritted his teeth, and glanced around.
"Okay... Well..." The youth's hand took on a bluish glow, and he pressed it to Prime's shoulder above the injury. The blood flow began to slow, and the man's knit brow relaxed ever so slightly as the pain was dampened.
"Can you fix it?" Alfred asked shakily, sitting down on the edge of the raft while trying to keep one eye on the happenings.
"It's..." Tsubota bit his lip, and glanced at Prime's face. He had his teeth clenched still, though he was growing paler from the loss of blood.
"It's unlikely that I can save his arm. My teachers taught us-" The glow surged forwards, and Tsubota placed his other hand on the axe. Prime appeared shaken, though if it was by the agony of the weapon being torn out or the possibility of losing his arm was unclear.
"They taught us disaster and battlefield cleanup. The spells I know are best for keeping people alive, not restoring them to perfect health," Tsubota sighed, and averted his gaze for a moment.
"I'm sorry, about this whole thing... If you can hear me," he braced himself, and pulled back against the embedded weapon. It resisted for a moment, and then pulled free accompanied by wet noises and a sick crunch. Prime remained silent, though a cold sweat was pouring down his brow.
"If we get out of this, I'll help you find a replacement or fix it or whatever..." the Summoner choked out, and then placed his glowing hand upon the wound.
"Here goes..." A crescent of light extended from his hand, shearing through the damaged limb and removing it cleanly. Tsubota maintained his concentration for a moment, the focused shape of the spell dispersing and washing over the affected area. The green haired youth's eyes drifted closed, and his expression went blank. The white aura began to bunch back up again at the site of the amputation, slowly bleeding into the wounded area.
"That. That should hold, I think," Tsubota stood up, and stumbled a few steps away from Prime. Although his injured arm was now mostly lieing on the ground, the area where it had been had healed over cleanly. Color was beginning to return to Prime's face, although he still seemed to be stunned from what had happened.
"And the arm?" Alfred queried, glancing at where it had fallen in a growing puddle of blood.
"He can decide what to do with it-" Tsubota began walking briskly back towards where Joseph was stationed. He cupped his hands over his mouth.
"Everybody, get out here now! We're putting the raft in the water A-SAP!"
If we could get across the river, we'd be safe from competition with the other groups, at least. That's most important right now, as far as I know...

Shortly after Emily left, Alyssa collapsed. "This is too much, people are dieing! How am I going to survive this?" she asked herself out loud
You already know how. There are even people around to help you this time.
"I can't even move though! I CAN'T handle this!"
Really now? The voice laughed. So, how are you alive then?
What doesn't kill you, ya know?
"I'm not going to let myself give in, am I?"
Nope. Now get up. Go back there, there's nothing to do here.
Alyssa sat up and wiped the tears from her eyes. She didn't know how, but she was coping. Her inner-self was right. She was still alive and sitting here feeling sorry for herself wouldn't help anyone. This discovery put a smile on her face, the first one she'd had in a long time.
She stood up and wiped her eyes again, then ran back to where the raft was.
---------
By the time she get there, one group was gone. The other, the one that had been circled around Prime was dropping the raft into the water. A few other people were there too as well as Emily.
"Hey," she began. "Is-is he ok? He-he doesn't look like he's bleeding anymore."

Gideon pushed his way into the gathered people around the prone member of his group. The chatter from the spectators seemed to be growing into a fevered pitch with the loss of Primes arm and the magical healing done by Tsubota. Gideon knew that if this kept up that those outside of his group would begin to try to pick off his. A rather extreme looking young man was baring down on the from of Prime with the intention of taking the axe. Gideon rushed up on the figure and placed a foot on the handle and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Give me the axe and everything will be alright.” the young man hissed as he put his face very close to Gideons.
“What's your name son?” Gideon asked through clenched teeth.
“Adam, what's it matter?”
“Well, Adam, I just want to let you know that you'll not be getting this axe today, or ever for that matter.” Gideon growled, pushing Adam back a bit.
“Bad idea asshat!” Adam swung a ringed fist at Gideon in a fit of rage.
At that moment a number of things began to happen at once. Adams fist was still moving towards Gideons face, but at the same moment Gideon was undergoing a change. Skin and clothing began to tear and muscles expanded. All visage of Gideon being human began to slip away as gray fur began to erupt from extending limbs and massive tendons. A razor sharp claw burst forth each finger and toe. Fangs and pointed teeth began to spring forth from an expanding muzzle. At the moment Adams fist hit Gideon it was no longer his olive toned skin, but thick gray fur and fangs. A sort of smile formed on Gideons face as he drew himself up to his full height, dwarfing everyone in the area by six feet, and let out a massive howl. Adam froze and stammered as Gideon crouched down before him again.
“I think it's time for you to leave now. Everyone who isn't with me needs to get out of here now before I get angry.” Gideon snarled out in a gravely tone as he scooped up the axe in one hand and Prime in the other.
“Everyone else, we need to get going. Go on ahead, I'll bring up the rear.”
OOC- DL is very rusty...

Charles Tanner looked up from his work aiding Elkind Benton and Mervin Lehman in tying the final logs together (quite aware that the three of them together looked like the whist club out for a fishing trip). A werewolf? Or some other form of changeling? Whatever Gideon was, at least he retained his consciousness in this other form. Tanner surveyed his enormous frame. Gideon had been right when he had said that he could handle Tuica's wheelchair.
"You'll be swimming, then, I take it," Tanner said to the creature.
Meera Starre was already helping Billy and Carol onto the raft, while Alfred Lans the professor stood on the other end to keep the raft steady. Next, Rit begrudgingly helped Toback Dougherty carry Tuica's frail form on board. Deng Xue and Bethany Brewer, both scrutinizing the river apprehensively, followed.
Tanner turned his gaze to Alyssa, who had just rejoined the group. "Thanks to this fellow's talents, yes, Prime is fine. In fact..." To Tsubota, Tanner went on. "I suspected your nature might be such, Tsubota. And since you've been honest about it, perhaps I shall be honest about mine."
He knelt down beside Prime's prone body and traced a rectangle around it. In another moment, the youth was lifted onto a stretcher that had not been there a moment before.
On the raft, Alfred shook his head. "I've gone crazy, that's all," he muttered.
OOC: Not an easy or very good post but there we go. And now that the NPCs are all on the raft, maybe we can GO! Howzat sound? Huh? Huh?

Alyssa watched the stretcher appear below Prime in astonishment, but part of what astonished her was how little this was really surprising her.
She then moved to pick up one end of the stretcher, but two young men who's name escaped her beat her to it and carefully carried him onto the raft. She then sat on the edge of the raft and waited for it to depart.
As sshe waited, she pulled her sleeves up and stared at the scars on her wrist, a couple of which went up to her elbow.
"Never again." she told herself. "Never!"

Emily watched as Gideon turned into some sort of wherewolf looking monster. "Hope nobody's allergic to dogs" she chuckled to herself as she hopped onto the raft. It was a beautiful day and even in this situation she couldn't help but feel happy because of the weather. Then she noticed Alyssa sitting on the edge of the raft. "Hey," Emily smiled as she sat next to Alyssa, "how you holdin up?" Her glanced at the girls arms then back to her face. "I love boat rides don't you? It's so envigerating and wonderful! It almost makes me happy to be here." Emily kicked off her shoes and dipped her feet in the lake.

OOC: Yeah I double posted, so sue me BIC:“Hello dear,” Bethany said to Xue. Xue looked up at the smiling old lady, she was grateful that the lady had said a word she knew. All in all Xue knew about four phrases in English, hello, my name is Xue, help, and goodbye. “Hello” She responded smiling. Honestly Xue had very little knowledge of what was going on. Rit didn’t tell her much of what was happening. He told her they were on a game show and not to be frightened. He was an awful liar but she couldn’t ask anybody else. She had helped with putting the raft together, a kind man called Elk had shown her what to do but there wasn’t much she could do, so she had meandered on the raft. “Do you speak a lot of English?” Bethany asked Xue. Bethany was deathly scared that she would die on this adventure, she was old and thought they might forget her, she had been one of the first on the raft. Smiling the girl shrugged her shoulders. All she had said so far was hello but it was very accented. Beth was hopping to make a friend to guarantee her own safety, and she saw herself and this girl kind of like outsiders. “You remind me of my granddaughter” she said opening her purse. “Would you like to see a picture?” Xue just smiled unsure of what to do. Beth showed her the eight pictures of all her grandchildren. The older lady chatted away happily as Xue looked at the pictures. She had no idea what the lady was saying but smiled anyways. Xue very much wanted to be back at home, away from all the weirdness she had seen throughout the day. These ways were much different from her home, and she was very lonely.

"Oh..." Alyssa said, slightly surprised at her appearance on the raft.
"Well, at least we're crossing the lake..." she said quietly, brushing her hair aside.
The lake didn't have much to look at but, Alyssa watched it all the same. A lot of people were talking around her. Some were fearful of what was going to happen, others pretended that nothing was going on. A few that Alyssa could hear even seemed to be enjoying the fear that others seemed to enjoy the fear that filled the air about them.
The thought of those people made Alyssa tremble. Eventually these people would become bored, or fearful of their own lives, and they'd be the ones to watch out for the most.
"Ah!" She gasped, grasping at her wrist. After a few moments passed, the pain began to dissipate but, where her wrist had hurt a red mark appeared, making Alyssa shake even more.
"Hey! We're getting close to the other side!" shouted one of the men helping to keep the raft moving.
OOC: Yeah.... It'd been awhile.... and I said I would post. It's not much, but it's somn.

Prime shook some of his daze off, looking interestedly up at the werewolf carrying him. He gently expressed his desire to be let down, and started walking on his own two legs, though somewhat lopsidedly. He nodded his thanks to the wolfman.
"Under normal circumstances, I think I might be scared shitless. But I have a feeling that if I start sweating the little things," Prime said unsteadily, gesturing to his arm and the werewolf, "I'll always be to shocked to react." He sighed, a deep and long sound. He heartily wished for his motorcycle, he could still drive it with his remaining arm, and it has some useful extra features.
Like some nanite repair utilities he'd picked up from an odd half goblin named Nick. He silently cursed his luck, then noticed his gun was missing.
"Hey, anyone know where my gun went? I'm rather fond of it now, it kept me alive." He asked, curiously. Looking around, he noticed something odd in old Mr. Tanner, but he couldn't see his gun.

"Here we are..." Toback said with a jittery sigh as the raft nosed up against the coastline. A few gigantic fronds loomed over the group, like some kind of odd ferns. Gideon seized one with his free hand, and yanked himself ashore in a single powerful movement, gingerly setting the scooter on the ground. He extended a paw to Prime, lifting him over the gap. The biker landed on his feet, still shaky after the bloodloss, but clearly starting to steady himself.
"Your gun? Here." Joseph lobbed it to Prime without so much as checking the safety. "Not gonna leave something like that behind."
"Okay, kids, on the count of three, we jump-" Tsubota had taken Billy and Carol by the hand, and was swinging his arms back and forth. The were giddily accompanying him, windmilling their arms in exagerated motions.
"Say it with me. One, two, THREE!" Tsubota grunted with exertion, throwing himself into a hard longjump. He safely carried the two children across the gap and landed on dry ground, skidding on his knees. He tucked the two under his arms, keeping them from falling in the dirt.
"Thanks. Tsubota is it?" Meera landed beside him, taking her children back to her side again. She nodded with a warm smile, and then stepped over to where Prime was, clearly considering a spot near him and Gideon to be the safest spot.
"Xue, come on. We're going." Emily said, carefully securing Tuica on her back. She gave one last nod to the girl, and hopped across the gap with a large ammount of room to spare. She stepped over to the scooter, where the woman gracefully dismounted and took her position astride the vehicle.
"Here, I gotcha." Rit offered Xue a hand, despite the raft now having nosed up to the shore and the distance only being a short step. She looked at the outstretched hand slightly nervously, and then took hold by the very tips of her fingers.
"So, now, where to, fearless leaders?" Elk had produced his gun, and was cagily glancing around. The ankles of his pants were soaked, evidently from charging straight across the remaining feet of water and onto the muddy ground. With each step, they slapped wettly against his legs.
"Well, we'll just go along this outside edge here. Not too fast, and not too stylish, but it's by far the safest route we've got. Since we're so far out of the way, the odds of mercenaries and such-"
"THERE'S THE BIRD, GUYS! A BIRD!" Emily was shouting at the top of her lungs and pointing up. A large black silouette, with two majestic wings, soared overhead. The sunlight cloaked it, making it hard to see the details well, and soon it banked behind a colossal tree.
"That... was kinda odd." Tsubota said with a shrug, and then turned to start walking.
"I'd say so. I couldn't really gauge that thing well, but it looked like it must've been like a condor or something. Those are the only bird I know that can get that large." Mervin had one hand at his side, ready to draw his weapon despite the apparent lack of threats thusfar.
"Just your vision. That thing was big, but not that big. Probably one of those monkey eating eagles or whatever. Shouldn't give us any trouble." Joseph pushed his sunglasses up the bridge of his nose, and glanced back. The group had all managed to make it clear of the raft, and they were finally underway once more.

Prime caught his weapon one handed, and stumbled a bit afterwards, trying to adjust to having only one arm. He knew he was in shock, but as long as the numbness helped him deal with it, he didn't care. His primary concern was to stay alive.
He looked up at the bird, with everyone else, and he scowled. It was off, there should be more birds, if this was a valid hunting ground. Sometime was definitely off. He sighed, nodding with respect towards the wolf man, and veered towards Alyssa.
"How're you holding up?" He asked gently, his face twitching as he resisted the urge the wince. The wound that was once his arm was aching dully, and whenever he thought to move it, the pain quickly flared up.
"I understand this is a new experience, like being dropped into the deep end of the ocean, but try to stay calm. Keeping your cool is the best way to stay alive in a messed up situation like this." Prime said, "Just keep your cool, and think ahead." He smiled, "I'll try to keep you out of harms way, though it seems 'they' like aiming at me to start with." He scowled thoughtfully, and sighed, looking along the banks.
"Anyways, stay with the children. They'll need moral support through this," He whispered, "And I don't think I can name any one better suited her." He said, dropping a wink.
