Bounty Claim: Worthwhile topic (?).
Relate and discuss your most interesting dreams here.
Last night I had a very peculiar dream. I can't remember most of what happened, but apparently some things happened that I deemed extremely important, because I had a companion in the dream whom I was terribly afraid would think it had all been a dream later on. That's right: I was worried that a dream figure in my dream was going to look back on these events and dismiss them... as a dream. Yeah, I don't understand it either.
So in the very last few moments of the dream, my associate and I were sitting in some kind of medieval-style banquet hall, and I was imploring my associate to keep in mind that none of this had been a dream, that it had all been real. My friend seemed skeptical, so I showed her a clock hanging on the wall. "If you look back at this clock in a few seconds," I told her, "it will display more or less the same time. If this were a dream, when you looked back at the clock, it would show a completely different time." This actually does hold true quite frequently, as I know both from personal experience and from research on the subject. To prove my point, I looked back at the clock a few seconds later.
It was showing a completely different time.
That is when I woke up.
What really baffles me is that I have no idea whether or not I was aware that I was dreaming. I mean, I could have thought these events were real, and felt it was imperative to convince my partner of the same. But I might also have known that I was dreaming (I've had many such dreams as of late), and that none of this had happened, yet I wanted my friend to think it had happened anyway. It's very puzzling.
Now share your own dreams.

Somehow I think your mind was trying to impart a desire to cause your dreams to come true, thus making them a reality, FOR REAL, with no need for self reassurance.
I dreamt an alien from the Aliens movie was hunting me down in future New York city, with some kind of added shape shifting ability. Not that it could shape shift into other people, more like it would cause several thousand spikes to fly out of its body and all over the place. Totally counts as a nightmare, because the only thing on this earth that can scare me are those goddamn aliens. Whoever came up with them has a seriously scary imagenation.
When I woke up, I was hating myself for inflicting that kind of dream on myself, and I called my brain an asshole several times. My thoughts were mostly composed of 'Why the hell would I want to inflict something on myself that would make me...scared practically to the point of insanity?' and I also didn't sleep for the rest of the night....
Then I went online on AVP and kicked some alien ass, because I was severely irritated.

I think the most abstract dream I've ever had was this one where I was walking into school, and the main entrance had been converted into a glass wall. The rest of the school was listening to some assembly, and everyone looked at me. Then these girls in my year walked past holding javelins and wearing Phys Ed kit, and one gave me a sour look. Then I woke up. Very strange... Might have something to do with it being Sports Day the day after.
Also, I had this rather demented dream about Steph and Hec... It was all in black and white, and it was foggy, and I was more of an onlooker than a participant. Basically all that happened was Hec gave Steph a ring, and then they fought some monsters. I believe I had that dream back before Hec went bi. o.o

Some people do know when they are dreaming. I have found that when I dream and I am seeing it through my eyes like I do when I am a wake that I don't realize I am dreaming until I wake up. On the rare occasions I will have a dream where I can see my whole body and it's sort of like I am separate entity watching what I do, these dreams I realize that I am dreaming almost immediately. These are weirder.
There are people who have groups and websites called Lucid Dreams/Lucid Dreamers who believe through practice you can control your dreams. Sounds kind of far fetched but would be cool.
My weirdest dreams have been when I find money in the dream and become rich. These are weird because in the dream I go around buying food for the homeless and spending it on charities and stuff. I am not that kind of person. I dislike the homeless and refuse to give money to charities. Those dreams are nightmares lol.

I've read something about Lucid Dreams (Possibly in Photu's Xanga) I've managed to control a couple of dreams, it's a strange experience. It's like waking up and realizing that you're still asleep if that makes sense. When I finally forced my self awake I couldn't open my eyes for like 5 minutes and it turned out I'd only been sleeping for a few hours.

I'd love to be able to control my dreams... As long as I can put various people who don't actually exist in them. ^^" Of course, that would be entirely possible with a dream, I s'pose, but what if you have no clear idea of what the person looked like? Could you get a vague idea... *quits rambling*
Also, just remembered this one dream from back when I was about six years old. I remember that I thought it had really happened back then, like it was real, and it still kind of feels that way. I got out of bed, and it was night, and the hall light was on. I went to the top of the stairs and jumped, and sort of floated to the bottom... And kept floating into the kitchen... Where I touched down at last. A bit awed by this, I think, I tried floating without having to jump. Didn't work at first, but I got better at it.
Now I come to think of it, I think that was a series of dreams that stretched over a week or so. I kept trying it again and again, every night. *shrugs* Those were some of the best dreams I've ever had, though. I'd love to fly again.

I've had flying dreams before where I jump and float down. There fun.
Has anyone ever had a dream where one of your friends wronged you and were still mad at them after you woke up?
I had a friend punch me one day because in his dream I stole his girlfriend and tied him to the front of a train. He hit me and I was like "What was that for?" He replied, "Dream you is an ass!"

Bulbs: OH MY THOTH YES. It's completely ridiculous but my perceptions of people can be completely changed by a dream. Fortunately the change only lasts a day or so but I still feel really weird about the person for that stretch of time.
Prof. Cinders: It's possible to learn how to control your dreams. Google "lucid dream" and you'll get all kinds of essays on the subject. My aforementioned clock method is just one of many ways to figure out you're having a lucid dream; after that, the universe is at the mercy of your imagination.

I once had a dream where I was driving and there was a curve in the road ahead. So I eased my wheel to the left. Then I woke up and realized I hadn't eased the wheel to the left and I was about to hit a road sign.
That was bad. >.<

Lol, I actually don't have any trouble distinguishing my dreams from reality. If its a dream, I automatically know it. Whether I can escape it or not seems to depend on the situation. Sometimes I have no control at all, as if theirs a wall between my mind and my actions. But most of the time I just hit the 'off' switch, because dreaming annoys me, its to much like work.

Last night my dream began that we were playing volleyball in gym class, and my arm moved. I felt it. Then I was suddenly with my friend Kristin and we were at Wendy's getting stuff to eat. I dreamed I went shopping, spent all my money and then I didn't have enough money to go on my senior class trip, because I had to save and really watch what I spent, and not buy anything i didn't need.
One night I had a dream I married my crush. It was weird! I also have dreams of being late for work all the time. I dream I come down the stairs, ask my dad what time it is and then he says 11:30, I gasp in my sleep because I had to be at work at 11.
But it is only like....10 am in real life.

I actually remember very few dreams that I have, all that I tend to remember is that my dreams are particularly wierd. Most of you have spoken to me at least once over msn and encountered my randomness, well my dreams are basically my randomness tenfold. I did once have a dream where I was trampolining and this girl from my group at the time was watching me, then all of a sudden we were in a sweet shop and I became a gingerbread man. And no I'm not making that up, its just a small insight to my psyche...

I don't seem to remember most of my dreams. Very few am I able to recall even just a few hours later. I don't know what causes this... Maybe if my brain would function correctly when I wake up, I could, but once I'm up, they're gone. I've also had some where some physical motion wakes me up too. Usually it's falling or something of the sort.

Oh. Well. Recently, I had a dream where I was at, I think, Borders, and two of my friends were buying lightsabers, with Force power action. The person at the register demonstrated this by putting a ring on her finger. The ring was tied to the lightsaber with a fishing wire, and tehre was some pulling mechanism so it flew into her hand. My friends were like woah, so they bought, I think 18 green Yoda style sabers for $8000 each. And I was like boohoo, I want one, and they were like psh, no, and then they left.
So then suddenly I'm in a forest, walking down a paved rove, thinking to myself that I'm walking home. I see a car driving down, and I recognize a couple other friends in it, so I wave to them to stop so they can take me home. So they stop, but they were actually just random Asian dudes who stared at me, then drove off. So I shrugged and kept walking.
But suddenly a van of some sort drives up and stops in front of me. One of the friends who bought the lightsabers jumped out and attacked me, so I pulled out my lightsaber to block. Oh, yeah, forgot to mention I had a lightsaber when I appeared in the forest. Anyways, after he attacked, we just started laughing.
Then I randomly appear in a white-walled room, sitting down with a group of people. We're talking about something, when someone says hey! why don't you show us your force powers? And I'm like okay, so I hold out my hand at a pack of Ritz crackers and start concetrating. Unfortunately, I'm weak minded or something so the cracker kind of plops off the top and starts rolling around, because I can only move it side to side. Then I try again, and I manage to lift it up, and everyone's like woah.
However, my hot friend says something about telekinetic powers being special to people who were taught by our last year's english teacher. Then she says see? and holds out both her hands and captures the ritz cracker, which I had been playing around with while she was talking. Also, even though I knew who she was, and she had her normal name, she looked like my other friend's mom (who is also hot).
Then I woke up.

Last night I had a dream that felt like it went on for EVER. It all started with this battle outside my house, some freaky government conspiritors with photon swords. So chucked my bastard sword at the guy, and it went right through his chest. So then I ran over to him (pretty much filled with terror because they've got swords that aren't stopped by mere material presence) and grabbed the dead dudes plasma sword, and then start dueling the other dude. It took about three minutes to beat him, and it was his fault to, cuz when I parried his attack his sword downswept and went through one of his legs, and then I ran him through. (And then he fell down and his chest upwards was cut in half.)
So now you've got a violent, pissed off 17 year old with plasma sword, in fact, two plasma swords. So, what happens next? I travel around the world hunting down everyone who's ever pissed me off. (I started with my mother.) And once i finished with that, I started killing government officials. That took me a while. Eventually I kidnapped the president of the united states, and got into a nuclear silo. I killed everyone inside, exept the operator, including the president (that is bush) and forced the guy to blow up china, iraqu, russia, and afganistan. Then I killed him to.
Anyways, eventually I ended up blowing up the entire planet, after an angel came down from another plane of existance to try to stop 'The greatest evil god ever created.' I killed him and absorbed all his powers.
The rest of the dream was basically random clips of myself with a red halo and black wings basically killing everything I could find, anywhere.

*resurrection* Mildly ironic considering my dream last night. (you'll see how it has to do with immortality) So last night, I had a dream where I met up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time, since we met at a summer program on the east coast, and thus we live on opposite sides of the country. So anyway, after the LIEK OMG, i HAVNT SEEN U IN 4EVER!!!11, we have this awkward conversation and stuff. Somewhere during the conversation, I ask her out in a manner that isn't awkward at all. I think 'Huh, this must be a dream, because I would have never done this in real life, nor would she have accepted.' But then time fast forwards, and I'm talking to my friend, and I'm like, "Dude, I have a girlfriend!" and he's like "Nice," and then I thought, 'Huh, this must be real, because time passed.' Time passes again, and I'm with my imaginary girlfriend. So then we're doing something or other, when I realize that she's actually a vampire. I see that her eyes are black and she's trying to suck blood from my arm. So I'm like, "Okay, that's cool" instead of "OMGWTF." Funny thing is, I have a bite-shaped bruise IRL where she bit me.
