Yoshimitsu sat on the edge of the cliff. Once again, he had found that his search for Vincent had lead him to a dead end, and the warrior had evaded him again. It was getting tiresome by this point. He was sick of chasing around the whole world just to find one person, who seemed to just be messing with him. For once, he had decided to find calm and relaxation somewhere that wasn't the cliff near his house. That cliff was surely sick of hearing his problems by now. Yoshimitsu sighed, and leaned back, thinking. No point in trying to find Vincent now. The dark warrior would surely show himself, sooner or later.
"I know you're somewhere," he muttered to himself. Unconsciously, he ran a finger over one of the scars on his face, losing himself in thought again. He was so lost in thought, in fact, that he didn't notice a person walk up behind him, but stop nearby. It wasn't until the person spoke that he was snapped out of his mind.
"You got something on your mind too?"
Instinctively, Yoshimitsu was on his feet, facing this new person, his hand flying to his sword hilt. However, after looking at the person for a split second, he relaxed. There was no hostile emotion, or particularly threatening power emanating from him. He also looked too... almost normal. Whoever he was, he was barely older than Yoshimitsu, if indeed older at all. He had natural blonde hair, with perfect black streaks all over it, styled into a side fringe. The attire was a tad unusual, but not unpleasent. An unbuttoned black shirt over a plain white, long sleeved t-shirt. The jeans were in good condition, though a little dirty, and the white skate shoes looked fairly new.
"Yeah, you could say that."
Yoshimitsu relaxed again, turned his back on the stranger and sat back down, legs dangling over the cliff.
"Mind if I join you?" The stranger asked.
"Go for it," Yoshimitsu said indifferently. He heard the new person walk to beside him, and sit down, staring at the ocean.
"I thought I was the only person who came here," the stranger said. "I'm Sebastian, by the way."
"Yoshimitsu," Yoshimitsu replied.
"Huh... haven't heard that name before. You from Japan?" Sebastian enquired.
"Not quite," Yoshimitsu answered, a hollow smirk forming on his face. A moment of silence.
"I thought I was the only person to come here," Sebastian said, tasting the salty tang on the air. "I only come here when I have a lot on my mind."
"Yeah. I usually go somewhere else, but that cliff just makes me think about stuff I'd rather not," Yoshimitsu responded, shrugging. The sound of the waves was soothing, as they gently lapped against the rocks.
"Wanna talk about it?" Sebastian offered. There was no wind, and few clouds in the night sky.
"Not hugely," Yoshimitsu said. The stars twinkled above, like millions of tiny diamonds upon a black sheet. "What about you? What's eating you?"
"I'm trying to come to terms with my freakiness," Sebastian said, shrugging and looking up at the crescent moon.
"What freakiness? You seem pretty normal to me," Yoshimitsu commented.
"Yeah, I wish. I dunno, it's not natural, I can tell you that," Sebastian said cryptically.
"Not natural? How's this for not natural?" Yoshimitsu said.
He extended his hand out in front of him. Sebastian watched, and gasped when a flame appeared in the blue haired teenager's hand. The fire came from nowhere, there was nothing to trigger it, and it wasn't using any fuel. It didn't seem to be hurting Yoshimitsu either. Then, the fire froze over completely, so Yoshimitsu was holding ice in the exact shape of the flame. Yoshimitsu closed his hand, and the ice vanished.
"That was..."
"That was fire. That turned into ice," Yoshimitsu said. "It's nothing special, so don't dwell on it. Like I said, what's eating you?"
"Oh, uh," Sebastian said, not sure how to reply to that. He took a deep breath, then said it as simply as he could. "I can make things happen."
"Like what?" Yoshimitsu enquired.
"I dunno, it's random. I can make things explode or freeze or stop completely, I can make things disappear or appear, change them or make them bigger or smaller," Sebastian explained. His sentences were without any structure, but that was how his thoughts felt.
"You seem pretty powerful. What's got you worried?" Yoshimitsu asked.
"Because I can't control it," Sebastian said. Yoshimitsu turned to look at Sebastian properly. He could see it in the other teenager's eyes. Worry, fear, shock. Worst of all, he could tell that Sebastian was feeling slightly vulnerable. It didn't take a psychic to tell that, and Yoshimitsu was willing to bet anything that Sebastian was worried about what other people might think of him if they found out just what he could do.
"You've got a pretty special gift," Yoshimitsu said. Sebastian snorted.
"More like a curse."
"Nah, I wouldn't say so. You have the world at your fingertips, but you just don't know what to do with it," Yoshimitsu commented. "I've got a bit of experience in stuff like that, and if you want, I co-ARGH!"
Yoshimitsu was hit by a sudden splitting headache. It actually felt like an axe was being introduced to his skull at shockingly high velocities. His vision had completely abandoned him, as had hearing. It was the worst pain he thought he had ever felt, but it felt like something irritatingly familiar was causing it. In his mind's eye, he saw a flash of blue and black, a castle, a familiar gloating face and a spurt of blood.
The pain ended as suddenly as it came, but his vision did not return immediately. He became suddenly conscious that he was holding his head in his hands, while Sebastian had a hand on his shoulder and was saying something.
"Yoshimitsu? Are you okay? Talk to me!" Sebastian said, his voice alive with worry and panic.
"M'alright," Yoshimitsu muttered groggily. "Just a vision."
"A... vision?" Sebastian asked.
"Yeah, someone wants me to go somewhere, and I think I know where," Yoshimitsu said. He climbed his to feet, his vision finally restored. Immediately, Sebastian was on his feet too.
"Let me come with you," he said, sounding oddly stronger.
"Sebastian... I'll only say this once. Where I'm going is dangerous. I'm not talking being mugged in the street, I'm talking getting ripped apart by a monster, limb by limb, with no way of defending yourself," Yoshimitsu warned. "Where I'm going, there aren't words for what can be done to you before you die, for what you might face. Are you sure you really want to come with me?"
Sebastian said nothing for a moment, considering it. He had a gut instinct about Yoshimitsu. About staying with him. Something was telling him that Yoshimitsu could help him out with his abnormality, and he could help Yoshimitsu out with his troubled mind.
"Yeah, I'm sure," he said. Yoshimitsu studied Sebastian for a moment.
"Okay, but I have one stop to make before we head over there, then," Yoshimitsu said, extending a hand to Sebastian. Sebastian took Yoshimitsu's hand, then felt a very strange force grip every part of him, as though his whole entity was being taken from the place they were at and shoved somewhere else. The next second, he found himself in a city, just outside of a house.
"Okay Six, if you're not in, I'm not gonna be impressed," Yoshimitsu said, knocking on the door.
"I know you're somewhere," he muttered to himself. Unconsciously, he ran a finger over one of the scars on his face, losing himself in thought again.
