] MAFIA V: POKéMOBSTERSIn a quiet village, far from human interference, bizarre and wonderful creatures had settled. Day in and day out, they played, worked the earth, and relaxed. However, some found this simple life to not be enough. Coveting the territory of the other creatures, desiring their food and possessions, they formed a covert alliance. And now, in that happy little town, one by one, the creatures begin dieing in incredible horrible ways... Okay, guys, time to do this. To sign up, post here, and send me a PM requesting your types. You may request either one single type ability, or two Dual Type abilities. If more than five people pick any one type, I will post a notification in this topic that the type is off limits for the rest of registration. TIME:This game will start on Saturday, August 8th, at midnight. It will run with the following schedule: Sunday: Night Monday: Day Tuesday: Night Wednesday: Day Thursday: Night Friday and Saturday: One day And then repeat. If we do not have enough people by August 8th, we'll rain check it to the 15th, and if not then, this Mafia game will be postponed until December. If we don't get enough people then, I use people's ISPs to hunt them down and handcuff them to their comp desks, capiche? MAFIA LOCATIONI've got a hidden away proboards somewhere that'll do just fine, trust me. PLAYER RATIOWe will only start once we have at least nine players. The ratios of Innocent to Mafia go: 9 players: 6 Innocent, 3 Mafia 10 players: 7 Innocent, 3 Mafia 11 players: 8 Innocent, 3 Mafia 12 players: 8 Innocent, 4 Mafia 13 players: 9 Innocent, 4 Mafia 14 players: 10 Innocent, 4 Mafia 15 players: 11 Innocent, 4 Mafia 16 players: 11 Innocent, 5 Mafia 17 players: 12 Innocent, 5 Mafia 18 players: 13 Innocent, 5 Mafia 19 players: 13 Innocent, 6 Mafia 20 players: 14 Innocent, 6 Mafia I'm playing a bit of a Mafia light game, but hopefully, it should work well. PRIZESEvery player that signs up gets five EP on signing up, five EP after PMing me their type, and ten EP when the game starts. The prize pot is 100 EP, plus ten for every person that signed up, divided amongst the winning players with living players getting a doubled share. If I see any strategies or highlights (such as great accusations) that I like, I will set aside bonus EP for a brief award ceremony at the end (Expect each award to be between 1 and 5 EP per person involved.) Oh, and another little bonus: Referring a new posting member or bringing back somebody who has been inactive on the forums for a while is worth triple EP during Mafia signups, provided that they stay at least the duration of Mafia. -------- With all of that said, look to the post below for the roles. Here's a list of all players: We have room for 11 more. Lugiasian Kuroboom Prime BloodWolf Lone Pohatu Rupert V101 Fleetwolf Blood, Photu, Boom, Loogs, Lone, you've all said you're in. Don't disappoint me. Remember, PM me your types ASAP. If I don't have your types by the time we start, I'll assign you what I feel like giving you, and you won't get the bonus EP.

POWERS Bug: Bug players exceed at deception and sabotage of other strategies. -Single Type: This player’s votes count as negative one vote. If something would increase the value of their vote, it decreases it instead. If it would decrease the value of their vote, it increases it instead. This player is treated as having one less vote for them in Mafia decisions. This player may choose a type. That type is what this player registers as when a Psychic type inquires about their type. -Dual Type: This player’s votes count as negative one vote. If something would increase the value of their vote, it decreases it instead. If it would decrease the value of their vote, it increases it instead.
Dark: Dark players are innately more aggressive, making their votes hit harder but not defending themselves against other votes. -Single Type: This player’s votes are treated as being worth two. The total vote against this player (when there are votes against this player) is treated as containing two bonus votes. This player has a doubled chance of being Mafia. -Dual Type: This player’s votes are treated as being worth two. The total vote against this player (when there are votes against this player) is treated as containing four bonus votes. This player has a doubled chance of being Mafia.
Dragon: This player may, in a pinch, use all of their might on a single vote. This leaves them weak and needing to recover, though. -Single Type: By PMing the Host during a vote, they may opt to add three bonus votes to their own vote. However, if they do, they may not vote at all for the next Day and Night, and if there are any votes against them during that time, the total vote against them is increased in value by two. -Dual Type: By PMing the Host during a vote, they may opt to add two bonus votes to their own vote. However, if they do, they may not vote at all for the next Day and Night, and if there are any votes against them during that time, the total vote against them is increased in value by three.
Electric: Electric players are good at supporting their allies. -Single Type: Once every two days, this character may give a bonus vote to a player (they may give bonus votes to themselves). Additionally, once per game, they may “Recharge” a player. If they do so, that player regains one of their Limited Number of Times per game ability (Like Freezing or Soaring, or floating bonus votes for Normal players) -Dual Type: Once every three days, this character may give a bonus vote to a player (they may give bonus votes to themselves).
Fighting: Fighting players may attempt to Dynamic Punch Mafia Members to knock them out of competing, but leave themselves wide open in doing so. -Single Type: This player is treated as receiving one less vote against them in the Town Vote. Once per game, they may attempt to use Dynamic Punch on a selected player at night by PMing the Host. If that player is Mafia, they die. After using Dynamic Punch, if this player receives any votes against them, the total vote against them has two bonus votes included in it. This player has a halved chance of being Mafia. -Dual Type: Once per game, they may attempt to use Dynamic Punch on a selected player at night by PMing the Host. If that player is Mafia, they die. After using Dynamic Punch, if this player receives any votes against them, the total vote against them has three bonus votes included in it.
Fire: Fire players can get a boost by rushing into a vote, but can not switch to more opportune targets later on. -Single Type: This player may not be frozen. This player, if they vote within the first half of a day in the town vote, and the player they vote for dies, treats their vote as being worth two the following day. This player may not change whom they’ve voted for. -Dual Type: This player, if they vote within the first half of a day in the town vote, and the player they vote for dies, treats their vote as being worth two the following day. This player may not change whom they’ve voted for.
Flying: Flying players can avoid harm by flying away from the town until trouble blows over. -Single Type: This player may Soar twice per game by PMing the host in the prior Day or Night. While Soaring, a player is immune to being executed and may not vote for one phase. Additionally, if this player is ever subject to being Frozen or Dynamic Punched, they may immediately replicate the ability and use it on a target of their choice. (They are still affected after using the ability.) -Double Type: This player may Soar once per game.
Ghost: Ghost players can rise from the dead to point an accusing finger. Whether they are right or not is a different matter. -Single Type: This player can vote normally for two phases following their death. Additionally, whenever a player dies, they learn one of that player’s types. -Dual Type: This player can vote normally for two phases following their death.
Grass: Grass players specialize in catching up to their opposition and making the best of a bad situation. Single Type: Immune to being Frozen. If voting for a player who has less votes, once per two days, this player may make their vote count as being worth two. Dual Type: If voting for a player who has less votes, once per three days, this player may make their vote count as having a bonus vote attached to it.
Ground: Ground players can risk their vote’s value in exchange for a potential power up. -Single Type: When voting, this player may choose to PM the host before the end of that phase. If they do so, the host rolls a six sided die and subtracts two from the result, and notifies the player of the new value of their vote. They may not change their vote after using this ability. This player ignores the first bonus vote against them. -Dual Type: Once every two days, when voting, this player may choose to PM the host before the end of that phase. If they do so, the host rolls a six sided die and subtracts two from the result, and notifies the player of the new value of their vote. They may not change their vote after using this ability.
Ice: Players of the Ice type can Freeze other players, keeping them from acting, or defending themselves. -Single Type: This player may, twice per game, Freeze another player of their choice by PMing the host. This player is immune to being Frozen. -Dual Type: This player may, once per game, Freeze another player by PMing the host.
[Status: FROZEN: While a player is frozen, their votes do not count (though they may still vote), and they may not actively use any abilities. A frozen player remains frozen for one time period (one day, or one night)]
Normal: Strength in numbers is the strong point of a normal player, being able to swarm over almost any challenge. -Single Type: This player has one bonus vote that they may use at any point during the game. If another normal type player votes for the same player as this one, the total votes against that player are increased by one, plus one for every single type Normal player voting for that player. They are told the names all other players that the host would tell a Psychic were Normal types. -Dual Type: If more than one Normal type player votes for an individual, the total votes against that player receives a bonus vote, plus one for every single type Normal player voting for that player. They are told the names all other players that the host would tell a Psychic were Normal types.
Poison: Poison players are great at dragging other players down and reducing the impact of their votes. -Single Type: Reduces the value of the votes of all players in the vote that Killed them by one for the next town vote, except for the first voter. When voting in town, once every three days, they may opt to reduce the value of the person that voted before them by one by PMing the host. If they do so, they can’t change their vote for the rest of that phase. -Double Type: Reduces the value of the votes half of players (the half the voted most recently, or didn’t vote) in the vote that killed them by one for the next town vote.
Psychic: Psychic players can read the host’s mind to find out the types of other players. -Single Type: Can inquire the host once per day about a player. They find out both of the player’s types. -Double Type: Can inquire the host once per day about a player. They find out one of the player’s types. If the player has more than one type, they find out one at random.
Rock: Rock players are capable of protecting themselves, and possibly others. -Single Type: If this player does not vote in a town vote, the total votes against them are reduced in value by one third. This number is then rounded up to the nearest whole number. Additionally, once per every two nights, this player may PM the host the name of a player. If the Mafia attempts to execute that player on that night, the player survives and it is noted that they were saved the following morning. -Dual Type: If this player does not vote in a town vote, the total votes against them are reduced in value by one third. This number is then rounded up to the nearest whole number.
Steel: Steel players even the playing field by avoiding negative affects. -Single Type: This player’s vote always is treated as being worth exactly one. All votes against them are treated as being worth exactly one, and bonus votes against them do not count. -Dual Type: This player treats all votes against them as being worth one, though they are still affected by bonus votes.
Water: Water players work the best under great pressure, doing best when their necks are on the line. -Single Type: When this player has any votes against them, their vote has a bonus vote attached to it. If this player would be frozen, they instead receive a floating bonus vote that may be used at any point. If they are targeted by a Dynamic Punch, and are Mafia, the player that Dynamic Punched them dies as well as the Water type player. -Dual Type: When this player has any votes against them, their vote has a bonus vote attached to it.

We've got our first person!
BTW, Blood, I'll assign the EP for this, m'kay? That'll make it so I won't need to keep you abreast of every single PM.

Oh, I'm in. Let me also make a last-minute recommendation for the powers: Those with abilities that work once every X days should probably work every X-1 or so days instead. Because if you're really running only nine contestants, the game will be over too soon to allow those abilities to see much use.
I'm talkin' 'bout:
Electric (should be every day Single-Type and every other day Dual-Type, maybe with the stipulation that you can only boost your own vote every other day S and every three days D).
Poison (should be every other day S. No reason for it to be every three days because that ain't much of a perk).
And maybe a couple of the others too. You know what I mean? Because this game will be over in only, like four days and four nights at most.

It's kinda like survivor, except that the two tribes are mixed from the start, and one tribe doesn't know who's in the other tribe.
Oh, and instead of getting voted off, people get executed.
That's the gist of things. The Powers from above just let you toy with the voting a bit. For a new player? I'd suggest Steel. It cuts out all the fancy stuff.
Rupert, gonna stick with your choice from last game? I should be able to pull it up.
So, now, we only need one or two people, depending on V's whims. SV, El, BB, DL, Choobs, 'cat? Any of you up for filling in?
EDIT: And also, Photu, I'll be fixing those numbers up if we have less than twelve people. As of right now, though, they'll stay the same. Really, I shoulda added scaling to the rules, but... c'est la vie.

You signed up for the now-canned April signups (IIRC, we had a few people that are absent now that signed up then, or something.)
But if you want in, that'd be great. We'd have enough then, and if we go with the Rain date, Clicker will have internet by then, and be in on it too. So, here's hopin'!

I say we let people 'move into town' during the course of the game. When that happens, Lee can roll a d6, a roll of 5 - 6 see's that person joining the mafia. There, latecomers are happy, the game can have rather unexpected twists and turns, life goes on.
