I will go post a suggestion if you explain the combat system. I've gotten to Royce's first fight and I realize that I only really have a limited knowledge of the fighting system in Homestuck (mainly due to the number of lols I had reading the actual fight signs and only halfway paying attention).
Does everything have to start with an A and be a rather fancy word for doing a rather non-fancy thing?

Everything needs to be a fancy word starting with A. Aggress seems to be a standard attack. It's your choice on how unfan y the attack is.

I keep thinking "Man it's going to take forever to animate this thing. I mean seriously I'm gonna have to use GIMP." Then I realize that an isn't TOTALLY necessary.
but it'd still be awesome I think

Edit:
And yeah, I changed over Shiro to the Conductor of Time for the purpose of fulfilling the Time requirement. And because really he was already practically time anyway.

So here's an interesting idea: I thought of coming up with a troll character and decided, what if we use the Chinese zodiac instead of the Western zodiac? We could have the Chinese character for each sign on the troll shirts. What do you guys think?

Hold up for a PM from me. If we do end up using troll characters, this is a possibility. (Apparently the Western zodiac signs are a cultural thing with them, a class indicator, but I think changing that would be an Acceptable Break From Canon to make this more distinctive.)

(Also, I've seen Chinese Zodiac trolls done before complete with the chinese characters on their shirt and all. It's been done. XP)

Did we say that?
I was thinking they might be a good race for Session #3 I've been talking about with you guys. Visit two null sessions with alien races we get to make up ourselves, but then, for the most important session we visit, go with Alternians. Saves us the overwhelming culture building and lets us get straight to individual character work.
Just an idea. Since this adventure is already breaking from canon in some major ways (such as, you know, the fact that Earth probably didn't host two successful Sburb campaigns).
(Mostly I just love me some goddamn trolls and think any attempt to come up with "our own" troll race would end up derivative as hell. What would they have, beaks and wings?)

Though if we're being honest, I would totally rather have fourteen trolls -- excuse me, fourteen Session #3 players who may or may not be trolls -- inspired by Borges' entirely made-up ancient Chinese animal classification system than twelve of them inspired by the Chinese zodiac.
According to Borges, the language of the ancient Chinese assigned different grammatical genders to animals according to the following fourteen groups:
1. those that belong to the Emperor 2. embalmed ones 3. those that are trained 4. suckling pigs 5. mermaids 6. fabulous ones 7. stray dogs 8. those included in this classification 9. those that tremble as if they were mad 10. innumerable ones 11. those drawn with a very fine camel's hair brush 12. others 13. those that have just broken a flower vase 14. those that resemble flies from a distance.
Character ideas leap to mind.

Um, yes, we did. Multiple times really.
Yeah. I love trolls too - I have a few of my own troll characters (in fact, I have a whole Alternian troll Session in my mind somewhere, with a few seriously badass lusii) and had I known we'd be dealing with Alternian Trolls, there would be some major impact on Colin's storyline because of the nature of some of these characters. As it stands, there is still an involvement of a Session #3 player re: Colin, but in a rather different way - I think I've mentioned my plan to involve another Synchronizer, and... An Alternian Troll Synchronizer-player? Trolls? Synchronizing? Synchronizing Troll 4Chan Raids, maybe.
... They're actual raids. With real weapons. And the blood of their enemies forms a double rainbow all the way across Skaia. Which is then galloped on by majestic Robotic, Horned Hoofbeasts. Who always want to be with you, make believe with you, and live in harmony, harmony, oh love.
(Insert squeaky pink dolphins here. They promptly get eaten by some pale monstrosity from beyond the abyss. Just another day on Alternia.)
LoL Tengus. >>;
Frankly, it's hard to avoid 'derivative as hell' when you're RPing a plot in someone else's universe. Househeld is derivative work by its very definition. But still, I find it hard to believe that somewhere like the Exodus can't scrape up enough originality to come up with a race that isn't essentially grey, candy-corn-horned humans with internal physiology that can be compared to arthropods, multicolored blood forming a fucked up caste system and an innate inner urge to kill everything.
Want to lower the derivativity? integrate with respect to X It's a whole different universe. Sky's the limit. Who said they have to look like Star Trek Aliens (aka Humans with some random bits glued on)? Who said they have to be utterly psychotic? Of course, their personality has to be one that an average human could understand and empathize with and communicate with (because otherwise, we couldn't get much character development going) - but just throwing in Alternians? Yeah. Now THAT's derivative, even if it saves us the hassle of developing cultures... and that may not necessarily be true because the nature of Troll Society sort of blurs the line between race development and character development. The troll Hemospectrum has something to the line of 11 hues, with Karkat's twelfth, human-like red blood being a mutation. They have multiple branches of their 'armies', some of which we know nothing about and would still need to create, while keeping them within the alignment of making sense. We would have to find symbols and associate them with these groups, etc. It's still a formidable undertaking.
Also, consider the fact that the Alternian Trolls were created with the concept of being general arseholes - like internet trolls, because Hussie thought it would be funny that the universe as we know it was created by, well, a bunch of internet trolls - in mind, and developed further to be actual psychopaths with a bizarre warrior society and a mishmash of alien traits to explain why they are the way they are. (also giving them a reason to be particular bastards to the Kids at first.) Frankly for all intents and purposes, by messing with their session we ARE their Trolls. Which is kind of great for an ironic twist, but yeah XP
Actually I consider our Earth to be in a completely different universe to the Kids' Earth (which is why we can observer their session). It COULD be possible that there's another Alternia out there too (Universes are infinite things with multiple possibilities, it is statistically improbable but not impossible) which could explain Alternians within Househeld (as frankly the race is doomed by their own murderous tendencies). On the other hand, think of what happens if Alternian Trolls cross the universal barrier. >>; They're locked in their own universe for a reason, mass-reproducing by incestuous-slurry murderous bastards they are. The last thing we need is an excuse for Trolls to Be The Flood on whatever session they get to make if they are Session 3. XP
Also, Jegus, Pohatu, we certainly have a lot of fascinating semi-arguments over the development of this storyline. XD
We already have Bustin. Do we need more fabulous? XD

I don't really want Session #3 to consist of aliens that don't look and act human enough to be relatable.
Though weirder aliens could be used to excellent effect in Session #2.
But come on. Trolling the trolls. That's what we'd be doing. That is a beautiful thought.

Yes, Pohatu, I -said- that, and I quote, "Of course, their personality has to be one that an average human could understand and empathize with and communicate with (because otherwise, we couldn't get much character development going)". XP
I was thinking Session #1, where all the players are dead, could have complete Starfish Aliens - we could find their corpses or something and wonder what the fuck were they and what just happened. Kind of like the "Space Jockey" in the first Alien Movie, if you catch my meaning. Session #2 could have weird things that aren't downright Starfish Aliens - because we still need to communicate with them and determine that yeah, they've gone completely bonkers in a bad way. I agree about Session #3 needing to be more humanoid in appearance and personality (This also creates a very interesting gradient! Being completely unable to understand a species would probably make it easier to eliminate a session for some people. Session 2 is closer to us personality-wise but still different enough to be THEY'RE-NOT-EVEN-HUMAN and plus outer god dementia... yeah. Session #3 having characters we can empathize with would make the moral event horizon even deeper) but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to look exactly like humans with some tacked on bits. XP
I dunno. I guess we have different views on what counts as derivative. XD But yeah. My biggest complaint is that I absolutely cannot see a Troll Synchronizer, which forces me to think up a completely new plot for Colin and I realllllly liked the one I had planned. ><

A troll Synchronizer wouldn't necessarily have to synchronize other trolls, though, or any other living beings. Hell, a Synchronizer of Time or Space would make sense.
I'm just going to keep gently whittling away at your eloquent counterarguments with miniscule rebukes to particular points.

Yeah, how very Hussie of you. XP
Well, I DID want the Session #3 Synchronizer to be of something different than Colin. The problem is, that Trolls always seem to thrive on disharmony as opposed to harmony, which is very problematic for someone who is supposed to create things that work in tandem with each other in a perfect balance.
(Although oh gods, my brain just went in the direction of making the Space and Time players develop a spat and the Synchronizer character serving as an auspistice XDDDD)
...
You know, maybe that's it. Disharmonious Harmony? CHAOS THEORY.
I could dick around with LW (my original plan was that LW would the future handle of the session 3 synchronizer, which is how Colin retroactively will know who will eventually help him create what sent the message from LW he recieved) dealing with Chaos and Quantum Mechanics, which will give her (probably) an insight into time and space too. and...
Gogdamnit, Pohatu. Your occasionally-annoying insistence on things can spur the weirdest creative processes in my brain.

See that's what I bank on, just kinda casually tossing things out here and there and expecting you to devote 75% of your considerable brainpower to repudiating them while the other 25%, quite against your own will, thinks about ways to make them possible.

... We make a pretty effective brainstorming team, in a weird sort of way. XD
Hn. That said, I'm trying to figure out how exactly are we going to work the hemospectrum, unless our trolls don't type their actual blood colors. Amethyst/Lavender blood doesn't really appear ON the hemospectrum. XD
(Wholly shit, my 100th post. Who would have thought? XD)
